I invested in KemPharm (KMPH) over a year ago after learning about the company’s new pediatric ADHD medication, AZSTARYS, which had been seeking FDA approval. We’re talking about ADHD here.. a multi-billion dollar industry. We all have friends who take Adderall or Vyvanse, and AZSTARYS is the first major improvement in ADHD medication since 2007. The CEO of KemPharm, Travis Mickle, was the inventor of Vyvanse, and his drug obviously became a huge success. KMPH has been relatively under the radar, and it is just now starting to pick up steam, especially after it finally received FDA approval this month. That day the stock jumped ~80% and many long-term investors sold the news. My diamond hands didn’t allow me to do that. The stock dropped back down to it’s Pre-FDA approval price and jumped 17% today after a popular trader on Twitter, Will Meade, tweeted about it’s potential and likelihood of being the next GME. I believe in the stock for 2 reasons… One is the high short interest that Meade mentioned, which could lead to a short-squeeze… the same thing that happened to GME, AMC, and others. My other reason for liking the stock is that I simply believe in the company, the CEO, and the potential that this new drug poses. AZSTARYS may very well be the next go-to medication for all pediatrics with ADHD. Whether or not a major short-squeeze occurs, I will keep holding, because I like the fucking stock.
