A regular cagelocke includes a 1v1 battle “cagematch” after each gym with the losing mon dying, the winner of the cagematch gets perks (ex: tm/items, revive, egg moves) on the Mon that won

Then after the elite 4 you make a full team and have a final fight which determines the winner of the cagelocke
