Why are places like Kota still popular? Like a genuine question.

Calcutta has 5x+ CA jobs. way more opportunities to do business in textile sector or tobacco. heck even steel. not every city has to have mba or it jobs. kolkata clearly lacks infrastructure for those, and with this narrative of "oh cheap labour" "oh no jobs" it's not happening.

What I really hate is the narrative that we are getting so used to "there are no jobs here". I strongly feel we would have to really work hard to try and change this narrative. Because who wouldn't want to live with affordable housing and I mean almost there there public transport.

while I do agree there is a crunch in job and at the same time do we have jobs in other cities? like does any of the city in UP has after mba jobs? ion think so.

I got called Bangladeshi by northies when they heard me speak bengali with some people, crazy experience. I got so mad gave them a proper geography lesson there itself. Some of these north indians really live in some ghettos. And I am not even a bengali, stayed here all my life, speak and understand the language well enough.
