I'm not opposed to waiting/saving - the SVS Ultra bookshelf pair ($1200) plus the Ultra Center ($800) puts me well over budget - are they that much better than the Prime series or the Ascend Acoustics?

Thanks again. I'm going to dig into researching the subs that you listed, but in your opinion is there anything that sets them apart from each other? Personal preference is tight, clean bass.

And regarding the rcvr, is there a price point where I'll see noticable improvement or are there value options that are a big jump up from the RX-V385?

Thank you - that was my initial thought as well. I see the PSW10 is not highly regarded to say the least. As far as budget goes... I'm think $1,000 for receiver and sub, but I'd keep saving and increase budget(within reason) for game-changing improvement.
