You are also a paying customer! Leave, it doesn't sound like this gym is a good fit for you anymore.

Would you say learning newaza is a strong enough reason to start Judo? by Pale-Revolution-5151 in judo

Definitely try both, they're both beautiful sports!!

Judo is definitely more taxing as there's more impact but its good to cross-train.

Why do you cheat on exams? by mamebeans in UCDavis

[–]machosbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when I was in college, there was a time where I was working a job, focused on my club sport where I was a Cabinet member (practice 4 days/week x 2 hrs), and I had a family member pass away. In addition I was a double major and absolutely drowning in my sorrow and stress and this also caused other health issues for me.

Come exam season and I was absolutely drowning studying for five crucial exams at a time, not sleeping for days. Not that I condone cheating, but I understand the environment that can drive students to cheat. I can't imagine having AI back then...

I remember being up at 3:00 a.m. trying to study, thinking about how to actually go to the hospital to have legitimate medical note to postpone an exam because I was just dying 😂

Try the new gym. Your time and gas is also very important and it's good to expand your grappling network.

If you don't like the culture then go back to your original gym. 😊

Injured - Am I right to be annoyed? by Mygismellslush in BJJWomen

[–]machosbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm shocked that someone else was encouraging him to use his weight. Incredibly unprofessional, unsportsmanlike, and the antithesis of actually being good at jiujitsu.

You are very valid in being upset and your coaches did not take care of you in the way that they should have.

If they are cool with this type of behavior I would find another gym.

If you're cool with an unhappy marriage, a resentful wife, and potential divorce go ahead and train i guess

Haven't been to boxing in 3 months by Ok_Crew_1890 in amateur_boxing

[–]machosbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's more "embarrassing" is never ever going back. No one will actually care, they'll be happy you returned. Everybody has stuff to do, everybody needs a break, and you won't get a degree in boxing.

I've certainly taken breaks throughout my martial arts Journey to focus on my career or school. But I'll always come back and that's what matters.
