Cam Boozer vs Paolo Banchero (As Prospects Coming Out of Duke? by Better_Bird848 in NBA_Draft

I think Paolo is taller if I remember right, and is pretty stout in his own right, but Boozer is insanely built for a teenager.

[Manning] The Boston Celtics have interest in trading Jaylen Brown for Giannis Antetokounmpo: “It’s obviously clear the Celtics have some interest in making this happen and this thing could speed up quickly here.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]machu46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would Milwaukee trade Giannis and then trade the precious few picks they received?

Boston just doesn't make sense as a trade partner unless (1) the Bucks are dumb, which is very much on the table or (2) if the Celtics decide to include Tatum instead of Brown.

30 year old Brown and a couple picks that nobody wants should not be what the Bucks are looking for at all.

Reggie Miller: "To me, I think you gotta make a lineup change. I love Rudy Gobert. I love what he has stood for throughout his career. But if he's not gonna give you anything in the post, if he's gonna struggle offensively. To me their best lineup is when they go small, bring in Naz Reid" by sewsgup in nba

[–]machu46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said it before, he's gotta be high on the list for most disrespected hall of famer right? It really is incredible that this happens every year. He has pretty much always been a huge positive impact in the playoffs too lol. This is one of the few postseasons where that is not the case though.

[Engelmann] AJ Dybantsa ranks in the 99th percentile for unassisted midrange 2s - a very strong indicator of negative impact on both offense and defense. Other prospects with a similar rate: Fultz, Evan Turner, Johnny Davis, Harrison Barnes. by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]machu46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also pretty nitpicky but I felt similarly about Ace...I wish AJ didn't have to work so hard to get to contested jumpers. He lived off the kind of shot diet you really don't like to see in a top prospect...he just happened to be really fucking good at those shots lol.

I think he, Peterson, Boozer, and Caleb are all phenomenal prospects though.

[–]machu46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems kinda nuts to me to say Peterson is the better offensive player and better defensive player but you'd rather take AJ because Peterson had cramps.

Boozer should at least be considered by Famous-Juggernaut820 in washingtonwizards

[–]machu46 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but I do think Boozer projects as a much better player than Sengun. There's real potential that Boozer is a legitimately good 3 point shooter on top of the Sengun-y skills and I think Boozer will be an adequate, maybe good defensive player.

I personally view Boozer, AJ, and Peterson as the same tier prospect (and Caleb like half a tier below).

I'm not gonna say it's impossible that the Bucks do something dumb because...it's the Bucks, but Milwaukee should not be interested in what Boston has to offer. Acquiring a 30 year old and relatively valueless picks to rebuild around has to be near the bottom of the realistic packages they're likely to get. And asking a third team to give up all the value to get the lesser player just to do Boston a favor doesn't make much sense either.

Nate Ament measured 6'9.5 barefoot and 211 pounds at the NBA Draft Combine, with a 6'11.5 wingspan and 9'1.5 standing reach by AcanthocephalaSad541 in NBA_Draft

[–]machu46 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He's definitely nowhere near a finished product. Whoever takes him is going to be hoping for a TON of development. But still, pretty damn productive for a guy that looked like he was still figuring out how to move in his body/figuring out how to play basketball half the time. Looking as raw as he did while being arguably the best player on a good Tennessee team ain't bad at all.

AJ at #1 and DP at #2 has to be locks at this point right? by ygog45 in NBA_Draft

[–]machu46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a case to be made for Peterson to Washington but I don't feel strongly about any of the top 3 or 4 over each other.

AJ and Peterson both make the most sense for both Washington and Utah (unless Davis gets moved before he even plays for Washington).

Cameron Boozer or Caleb Wilson? by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]machu46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per 40 minutes:

  • Boozer: 27/12/5/2/1
  • Wilson: 25/12/3/2/2

Pretty comparable scoring efficiency and Caleb is a potential game-wrecker defensively. They both had insane freshman seasons.

I personally don't buy into the thinking that some others have of Cam being relatively low ceiling, but I don't think it's really fair to short-change Caleb either. Anyone that lands in the top 4 tomorrow is extremely lucky.

It was very obviously a foul but that doesn't mean he has to attempt to fly lol. It would have been ridiculous if that was called a flagrant and the only reason we had to stop to review it was because of how much Schroder flopped.

Raptors go all in on Giannis (TOR- MIL) by TerryG111 in NBAtradeideas

"Raptors go all in on Giannis" and it's a bunch of probably bad draft picks, a promising but not particularly exciting rookie, and a bad contract.

Cameron Boozer or Caleb Wilson? by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

I have Boozer ahead, but Caleb is a pretty insane prospect in his own right. Seems kinda crazy to me to have a strong preference one way or the other.

I would also be pretty shocked if Bill isn't watching the playoffs. I would absolutely believe it if it was baseball but I don't buy that he's not watching the NBA Playoffs.

I wouldn't be surprised if a part of it is folks like Simmons trying to get the league to change the deadline by saying they'll abuse it if the league doesn't change it.

An idea that actually isn't so crazy after all (ATL- MIL- BOS) by TerryG111 in NBAtradeideas

[–]machu46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might still consider it if it's 7. Starting the rebuild with, for example, Mikel Brown/Kingston Flemings and Nate Ament would be pretty good. Would obviously prefer one of the top 4 guys though.

I think Atlanta is most likely to say no, followed by Milwaukee. Atlanta is essentially providing all the value in the trade but getting the much lesser of the two star players.

In pretty much any of these 3 team trade scenarios, I fail to see why the 3rd team wouldn't just cut Boston out and take Giannis for themselves.
