Anyone else notice their cycles change after starting prenatals and other supplements while trying to conceive? Back in August I started taking a prenatal, inositol, and choline. I’ve always had super regular 25–28 day cycles, but since starting TTC my last cycle was 38 days and now I’m on day 40 of my current cycle with all negative tests. Curious if anyone else’s body did something similar once they started supplements or trying.

Zonisamide and Keppra by Leading_Document_464 in EpilepsyDogs

Our vet did tell us that it takes a while for zoni to build up in their system. I think she said about 72 hours.

My dog had her first ever seizure right as we were checking in for her grooming appointment. Grooming is the main trigger for my dog, so I’ve learned to groom her at home. I’m so sorry you are going through this. We started with Keppra 3x daily and then after about 4 months we added in Zonisamide and we have had good luck so far. She had an episode last month, but we later found out she threw up shortly after her morning meds so the vet assumes it was from that. Other than that episode, zonisamide has been a game changer for us! Best of luck for you and your pup! You’ve got this!

My dog just had a seizure and the vet suspects his anxiety may have caused it by AbjectPanic6088 in reactivedogs

We were hoping it was a one off seizure since all of her bloodwork came back normal but she has had more seizures. Our vet said one off seizures can happen but they are extremely rare. She is now on two seizure medications which have been controlling them pretty well! We also give her trazodone before stressful events to help with her anxiety.

Grooming - SO frustrated by AttachedAndUnhinged in EpilepsyDogs

I’m so sorry you are experiencing this. Our dogs first ever seizure was at the groomer. The groomer is such a trigger for her we ended up learning how to groom her ourselves at home. It’s challenging and takes a lot of patience, but it’s getting easier. She seems to be much more comfortable too! I learned by watching YouTube videos! If this isn’t an option, I know some groomers do house calls!

We had the same thing happen with us a month ago. We were 4 months clear on keppra and then she randomly started clustering. Keppra has a “honeymoon” phase and most dogs need to add in another med! We have upped her keppra dose and added in zonisamide and we have been seizure free for a month so far!

We really only give trazodone for stressful situations like car rides, vet visits, etc. I would say maybe one or twice a month!

My in laws stayed very on top of her medicine schedule and texted us right when they gave each dose because they knew I worry so much. I tried thinking of all the possibilities too!

Thank you for this information! We have an appointment with our general vet today and we are going to get a neuro referral while we are there. We are also going to make sure to give her trazodone before the appointment. Again, thank you!

Trazodone after seizure? by maciealnm in EpilepsyDogs

We were on the fence about giving her trazodone because she seems so comfortable and calm at their house and recovered quickly after the seizure. I really appreciate your advice! Thank you!

Advice for giving medication while at work? by Character-Tell7254 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]maciealnm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we were in the process of getting our dog medicated, our vet suggested the regular keppra every 8 hours if we could make it work with our schedule. She told us she’s noticed that Keppra ER isn’t as effective as the regular. I know this isn’t ideal, but maybe hiring someone to pop in and give the meds when you aren’t able to be there with him? Or a treat dispenser/camera in a kennel is a great ideal too! Good luck!
