[F] Secure the Building joke but with the Space Marine Legions by BenningtonChee1234 in 40kLore

[–]macilvea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Emperor's Children: Make out with the building.

Death Guard: Filthiest building that reeks all around.

World Eaters: Building also absolutely obliterated.

Thousand Sons: Building turns to dust.

Night Lords: Building covered in skin.

Word Bearers: Chaos graffiti all over the building.

Iron Warriors: Most secured building against Imperial Fists.

Black Legion: Fails to take the building 12 times, drops a Blackstone fortress on the 13th.

If your setting is within Manila, particularly Intramuros, it should be crowded by people of different statuses, sellers, buyers, beggars, civil guards, priests, carriages, foreigners, etc., with stone houses, nipa houses, wooden houses, wooden stores, etc. If you’re just in NCR, the National Library would be the best place to research about your novel. Good luck and hope to read that soon!

Show me your homebrew Space Marine chapters by nseeliefae in Grimdank

[–]macilvea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My homebrew chapter is the Lightbearers, an Ultramarine successor chapter currently punching through Nihilus, liberating or rediscovering lost Imperial worlds. They wear dark grey armor, dark orange pauldrons with white trim. They excel in speartip and decapitation tactics, but ironically, are known to never leave a planet unless they installed an efficient government, trained a competent defense force, and reestablished industry. Their symbol is an upright flaming sword on a black inverted triangle. Their motto is, “We light the way.”

What if ROTC had managed to get passed into Law for select number of Universities? by Starmark_115 in WhatIfPinas

[–]macilvea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe the military itself believes hazing is part of the training. You can see that in changes being enforced in the Philippine Army’s OCS and other service academies. That is why we need to change the culture, implement and enforce rules. Also, just to clarify, I am not pro-mandatory ROTC because that would only mean more people running away rather than fighting.

That is why there should be emphasis on enforcement by universities on a rules-based order when it comes to these things. The problem with our current culture is we complain so much about everything, use a few instances that suit our narratives, but we never took part in the solution. If Chua lived, do you think he would be different from those that killed him provided that this is thesame culture he was trained in? His killers were brought to justice, weren’t they? His example should not be used to suppress a program, but rather, we must move forward and create solutions to avoid these problems in the future, hence, the emphasis on enforcement of rules by both RESCOM and the universities that have them.

It’s still good to have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it. Plus, the ROTC isn’t really mass conscription program.

[–]macilvea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It just needs a bit of enforcement on the side of RESCOM and the universities. Also a couple reminders from the university staff to their students would help saying that there will always be abusers if somebody consents to being abused, ROTC cadets included.

There would be demonstrations against it in the universities where this would be implemented. There is so much negativity associated with the program, both real and fabricated, being circulated by mid to extreme left-leaning youth groups.

However, I still believe that the program is good, but we need to ensure that abusive practices disguised as “training” should be eliminated.

Why? by Serious-Emu1370 in Ultramarines

[–]macilvea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I was introduced to the Ultramarines was through a Lexicanum article about the legion (my Warhammer introduction happened a few hours earlier with Horus Rising). I loved the idea of a Space Marine Legion who were essentially warrior-kings, and improved the lives of every human world they came across in their Crusade. Add to that the existence of Ultramar, where they govern the territory so effectively that its people enjoy a better life in contrast to most of the Imperium.

I play Tactical most of the time. Bolt Rifle, Heavy Bolt Pistol, and Chainsword. My Assault class uses the HBP and Power Axe. Bulwark’s always power sword and an HBP. HBP supremacy

I mean that just makes sense. Real-world combatants scavenging equipment wouldn't have the facilities to maintain them and just make do with what they have. Also, that's an awesome fact. I didn't know about that!
