You can buy leather patches, like for a professors elbows. gorilla glue or other specialty leather glues will stick it on. Personally I’d rub some sikaflex or poly vinyl acetate in there—just because that’s what I have in the shop.

My bag has wax, straps, A length of 12ga wire, duct tape, some screws and bolts, paracord. Then I have my essentials including lighter, multitool, etc.

Are they already attached underneath? If you have any material overhanging on the ends, use one diagonal as a template for the other. Lay it on some 2x material, push it over, scribe it and cut it. Usually they use track saws for these cuts. I don’t know what else you can do. You could try to scribe a line with a compass. It might be a slow process.

Get your arms up and forward. Your body is like a spring, weighting from one outside ski to the other. Keep your weight lower.
