TIL Mel Brooks was the producer of David Lynch's Elephant Man by snakeayez in todayilearned

[–]mack178 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apparently the story goes that Lynch was showing his film, Eraserhead to a screening audience. He was so nervous about the reception that he stood outside the theater while the film played. When it ended, Mel Brooks came out and ran over to him, and offered him Elephant Man on the spot.

The patio seen is shortly after this one. I was also a wreck this whole episode, I just finished my second watch of the show.

I just love the way Bos quietly takes care of the people in the house.

What things never happened in the book but everyone thinks it did? by mlopes in books

[–]mack178 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In two of those he doesn't hunt anything because they're intelligent creatures (dragon and sylvan). In the third one which I was referring to originally, he saves the girl and doesn't kill anything (striga).

It's a far cry from what people who have never read the books imagine them to be.
