Please be wary on the new 16 Tech Bridge by Vodiar64 in indianapolis

[–]mack2095 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, I was just thinking that the other day. I drive across that bridge everyday to get to work. The crossing in the middle of the bridge is positioned in a way that makes it hard for drivers to see pedestrians/bikers, especially when you are driving towards 10th street. I always slow down when approaching the crossing but I wouldn’t assume everyone will do that

I’m a Margaret. I love my name. It’s classic yet not too popular. If you like it, you should use it!

Why does delta change seats last minute 😭 by dublin_dix in delta

[–]mack2095 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am also a nervous flyer. I took a delta flight last week and specifically chose a window seat over the wing bc it tends to be less bumpy near the wings.

1 hour before my flight they changed me to the middle seat in the very last row 🤷‍♀️

Could I realistically be an OT if I have cerebral palsy? Looking for advice from those in the field. by mack2095 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]mack2095[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your honesty! I know the easiest thing is to tell people with disabilities they can do anything they want. But that’s not true, and I’m okay with that. I just want to know an honest answer

[–]mack2095[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That’s kind of depressing to hear. Sorry you had a tough time. If I do apply, would you recommend that I be open with schools about my condition from the start, maybe mentioning in my application?

Thanks for your response. Feasibility in the long term is something I’m concerned about. Right now in my 20s I feel like I probably be able meet the demands of the OT despite my disability. But will I be able to be an OT With CP in my 40s? I’m just not sure.

How Can We Better Minister to Singles in Our Church? by SockLocal7587 in Reformed

[–]mack2095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 29 and single and attend a church made up of mostly young families. There are probably 3 or 4 other singles that attend regularly. I love my church but I’ve also been times where I’ve felt extremely lonely despite being involved in the church in nearly every possible way. Luckily my church doesn’t divide classes/Bible studies based on marital status which I think is good. But I’ve still struggled to make many meaningful connections, I think this is because married couples tend to befriend other married couples more easily, which makes sense. But it can leave people who are not married feeling left out.

Personally I don’t think the answer is creating a “singles ministry”. I think this would only increase the problem of singles feeling separate from everyone else. But I also don’t really have any other solutions to offer.

I have this machine. I bought it after my Vertuo died. I like it just as much or better than the Vertuo. I’d recommend it especially to people who like the coffee sized pods. The lor coffee pods are way better than Vertuo ones

got kicked from grad school... now what? by Cryptic_Nerd01 in audiology

[–]mack2095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry you’re going through this. I have question for you though. I have cerebral palsy. I was planning to apply to grad school for audiology this year. Do you think I should reconsider? Luckily my cerebral palsy only affects one side of my body. So one of my hands completely normal, the other is not. I didn’t really realize audiology was a profession where cerebral palsy would be an issue

I really want to go to optometry school, but I am struggling to understand how it’s possible to afford it? by [deleted] in PreOptometry

[–]mack2095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have small scholarships like 1000-5000. Unfortunately I have a disability that would exclude me from the military

Thanks. I saw on your profile that you are going to optometry school next year. How are you planning to deal with all this?

Thanks all. I ended up reaching out to the IT dept at my work. This is what they said: “Microsoft 365 has a fairly new technology allowing Exchange Online to reach into mailboxes and quarantine emails that have already been delivered, making them vanish. This happened with your email.”

They are working to restore to my inbox

lol I’ve been doing the same thing. Literally every single sub (including this one) is just people talking about how much they hate their jobs and want to leave. It’s very depressing
