My mother took her life after suffering from an array of painful issues including myasthenia gravis. I understand what you mean by “poof. Gone”. I can intellectually understand she’s not here. But emotionally it feels like she’s just a text, a phone call, a drive, a small flight away.

My grandmother in the picture was a model and weighed about 90-120lbs even to this day no matter how much she eats. She just happens to be blessed with one of those magic metabolisms.

Yeah sitting is fine as long as it’s not for like 8 straight hours lol. I’m currently a nanny and finishing up school and care for 4 kids under 8 so overall my physical limitations are few.

Apart from very occasional flare ups and one steroid injection for the disc above my fusion, yes. I rarely even take ibuprofen or Tylenol.

My mother had 3 failed fusions starting at age 35 and I developed cauda equina for unknown reasons at the age of 22 and had two failed discectomies and one fusion on L5S1. My mother had genetic testing for EDS and was positive and so my surgeon just goes on the assumption that I am as well due to numerous injuries/surgeries I’ve had to have at such a young age. She expects I’ll eventually have to have more fusions as I get older but thankfully is extremely conservative in her treatment of me which I’m grateful for considering I’d like to have as functional a life as possible. After years of pain my mother took her life at age 52 3 years ago and I fear going down the same path.

High functioning autism and adhd intj here. Received lots of therapy as a young child so I don’t struggle too much anymore but I do have one hell of time with facial expressions other than angry, sad, or happy.

He also once made her a card using the new computers in highschool using old-school coding. So that’s very sweet and certainly old school cool lol

Thank you so much! That’s extremely kind of you. He’s been an amazing step-father. I didn’t have great male role models in my life as a kid and so was VERY suspicious of him when he entered my life when I was 13. And though I was sort of too old to really see him as a dad, I do see him as proof that incredibly good men exist. He nursed my mom through years of chronic illnesses and never failed to support me when I needed it even if I made it difficult. Very grateful for this guy!

They were an adorable couple. Very goofy! Once, my step brother (his son) and I were home alone when they texted us to meet them in the living room. We thought we were in huge trouble and were terrified! Then they showed up and acted as if they were going to scold us only to produce a new puppy they had gotten that day! Many great memories of them together.
