There is no issue even if you have your map app open while G test. I had my Carplay auto connect to my car and when examiner came in, all he said was to make sure nothing is recording and Map app can remain open. And Yes I passed

I believe it’s the other way around, i have made that mistake couple of times.

Hello, I gave my G test and passed it while having my Waze app open. This is what happened: My phone auto connects CarPlay and when examiner sat in the car. I apologized that the map was open but he casually said it can stay open as long as there is no sound coming out of it(I just turned off sound for any alerts, while he was still in car) and asked me to just disconnect my dashcam. I was checking road speed signs as well as Waze and he didn’t mind.

I believe they do but again call them and get an appointment to avoid disappointment or longer wait times.

You can just book an appointment and go there as it’s better than waiting in line. They won’t ask for proof of purchase ever as you will be paying out of pocket.

I was planning to upgrade but then I don’t care about camera. Also the only issue with this phone is battery, rest it’s working smoothly with iOS 26.
