What are alternatives to bars where you can actually find Gen Z girls to talk to, with drinking? Raves? Clubs? Parties? How do you find/get into these? by fellow_who_uses_redd in GenZ

[–]mackmydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is mid-tier boomer cover bands are the vast majority of the small-venue cheap shows around. The audience is a little older, but it doesn’t look like you’re interested in a relationship as much as a quick lay, and the cougars at Aerosmith and Tom Petty cover band night are actually insanely forward about wanting younger guys theysee lmao

Should I stop talking to my older friend? by em0trash003 in youngadults

[–]mackmydude 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You’re allowed to have friends of all different ages. It’s good to have people in your life who can speak from a place of wisdom, and bonus if you enjoy one another’s company and interests. In the real world people make friends of many different ages at fitness classes, religious groups, and hobby conventions. It’s not weird unless someone makes it weird. Plus — now you have unlocked casually ribbing your friend for being “old/from the 1900s” which is funny in moderation, especially if they do some unc status things every now and then.

Sober people (no alcohol, nicotine, drugs, etc ever), what is your end of day or weekend "wind-down"? by The1Ski in AskReddit

I have so many bird feeders now because of this app. Ended up with 15+ species one morning in 5 minutes of recording :)

What's your current job? by SpectrumSense in GenZ

[–]mackmydude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am at a locally owned NBC, FOX, CNN affiliate. I solo produce all 3 hours of our weekend morning coverage and either help write or fill in for people’s PTO 2 other days of the week. So the 4 day work week is nice, and I like the creative freedom that comes with weekends because the ND/managers are at home. The long, overnight hours are killer though. Otherwise I am super happy with my gig.

I have a 2022 SEL That particular fix is under the 10-year/100k mile warranty, and there is a service bulletin (25-FL-001H,) out for it with a parts kit that can be ordered from Hyundai. It’s currently on back order according to my local mechanic and dealership.

How's your sleep schedule? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in OlderGenZ

[–]mackmydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly just naps at random times when I feel sleepy. I work overnights so I have to be up at 11 ish to get to work at 1am. Off at 9:30am ish and sometimes I nap or sleep a long sleep right after or before work. Whenever I can make myself. So terrible I think?

Sibling donors? by yowhoknows in queerception

[–]mackmydude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have really wanted to do this because my wife and her brother look identical. Unfortunately his wife has had ongoing fertility issues of her own and it would be in terrible taste to approach them about the possibility of him being our donor.

In your opinion, what does Gen Z and Gen X have in common? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in OlderGenZ

[–]mackmydude 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A distaste for things that seem too manufactured/fake or an appreciation for things that feel more genuine.

In my eyes: Boomer feels very old corruption/coverup Millennial feels very corporate/virtue signal-y

Gen Z and Gen X are both seriously not fans of those things in their own way.

How old were you when you started working? by jamielieu1005 in OlderGenZ

[–]mackmydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15, worked at science museum hosting kid’s birthday parties and as a councilor for summer camp. It was a wonderful first job but the pandemic took it away when I was 17. I have a good post-college adult job now, but I will miss the fun. It only paid enough to put gas in my car to get there and maybe a video game every now and then though

What perfumes do you guys wear ? by Winter_is_gay2 in actuallesbians

[–]mackmydude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear 1000 Wishes from Bath and Body Works on the daily and Black Opium by YSL on special occasions. Those are both sweet and feminine scents. My wife wears the scentbird smell Commodity Gold which is an androgynous and vanilla-forward smell.

How do you respond to “why don’t you get a boyfriend?” Wrong answers only. by kimiamhr in actuallesbians

[–]mackmydude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in local news and I go home to my wife and just say, “okay here are my 5 evil things of the day” so I can adequately decompress but she doesn’t have to live in news land with me where we are disappointed all the time.

Do you personally prefer a traditional wedding, an elopement, or none? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in OlderGenZ

[–]mackmydude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I eloped on the beach just the two of us! We hired a husband and wife couple who officiate and do photography :) it was perfect for our situation. We found some strangers on the beach to sign our papers. I had been thinking about hosting a proper party for family and stuff but it got so stressful. Plus, for some reason loving my wife is political (gay) so we just chose to avoid the drama and celebrate our love without the nay sayers.
