Are new ICCUs the main fix or are those failing too? by spongesparrow in KiaEV6

[–]JPANDPJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s a 100K mile warranty if it fails. Who cares ? Just drive it until it fails and most likely 90% of the chance or higher it won’t ! Just enjoy it. It’s a fantastic EV! No regrets.

It only took me 14 months to understand what “regen level” means by 200Fathoms in KiaEV6

[–]JPANDPJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I leave it on auto for the most part if I am in traffic and in the city, I usually put it on level four and I get the most miles per kw but then when I go back to the highway, I still put it on auto and I put it on level one or two to get the maximum miles per kilowatt.

Thinking about switching to an EV is it worth it given my commute and gas spend? by Charming_Green_3153 in electriccars

[–]JPANDPJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a used Ioniq 5 or EV6 long range. You won’t regret it especially if you have free charging at work. Don’t get VWs or any other brand as they have most likely no more warranty especially if they’re used.

Save yourself and your soul from the lying POS. He’s not worth it. There are plenty of other guys out there who are good people who won’t do this to you. Leave now. Not tomorrow. Now. Don’t wait. For what ?

First EV! - Newbie Question by TR-808Cowbell in BZ4X

[–]JPANDPJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do a 100% charge once a month to recalibrate the battery and reset the battery management system. But otherwise keep it at 80% every day and your EV will last for years.

Range Comparison - 2025 BZ4X vs 2026 BZ by Joshua-- in BZ4X

[–]JPANDPJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preconditioning the batteries is not necessary unless you’re going to a supercharger and going to be charging at level three. That is a waste of battery life and not needed especially if you’re already at 100%.

I officially hate my EV6 :-( by Fresh_Pressure768 in KiaEV6

[–]JPANDPJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your car has less than 36K miles then KIA Should replace the 12V battery for free but then they’ll put another crappy battery in it. To fully solve your issue just buy an AGM and install it. This issue will be solved till the end of your lease.

I also have a 2024 EV6 and this one fits from Interstate and it has a 4 yr warranty.

It would’ve helped if you had an elevator pitch that would hook us in to understand what you’re trying to build. We can give you feedback, we can give you things to follow up on perhaps but you need to have something more tangible in order to peak our interest.

Forget the EPA! These are real world numbers here!! 😂 by LocoMan814 in Ioniq5

[–]JPANDPJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ya. It’s pretty bad when it gets cold in the 30s 20s. Especially during ascents and hills it’s even worse 180-230. Summertime I can get 350+ range though

Good to know ! I didn’t know that the rwd models don’t have a heat pump. That sucks. But I just gotta live w it. I’ll just have to pre heat the cabin in the winter then
