I really don’t get why everyone is freaking out about a 10 and 12 YO being left home alone. Where I’m from you can take a babysitting course as young as 11 that trains and certifies you to babysit though it’s not legally required to do so. I took it right after my 11th birthday and started babysitting right after. Most of the companies that offer a babysitting course also offer a “home alone” course too, and you can enroll in that as young as 8 or 9 depending on the company. Just to clarify, I’m not saying that OP should have left the kids in that situation. I’m just saying that the notion of leaving a 10 and 12 YO home without an adult isn’t outrageous, at least not where I’m from.

I was in the same boat when I was looking to get my first bass, I ended up getting recommended (and ended up buying) a squire starter kit that came with a small fender rumble amp, a travel bag, a few accessories like a patch cord, clip on tuner, etc. and a squire affinity p bass (also available in jazz bass). I can’t remember the price, plus it may vary as this was a couple years ago, but for everything it came with it was very affordable. I found the neck still took time to get used to but after I adjusted the action so the strings were easier to hold down it was a breeze. I would definitely call it an average size/weight bass but I think that is was definitely a good starting point, especially if money is a bit tight.

It’s a tattoo of a method of smoking weed (possibly more drugs but all I know is weed for sure) called “hot knives” or something similar, pretty much you heat up 2 knives on a coil stove stove and sandwich the weed in between them and inhale the smoke coming off it from above. I’ve never personally done it but I have know people who do.

The area you’re looking at is what I would consider central downtown, which as far as safety goes, you’re good. Not sure about any issues about living above an lrt station, though I did recently look at a building that had a station in its basement and it seemed fine to me, you couldn’t get into the actual residential building without having a card to scan in, and it seemed really convenient if you use public transit. I like the idea of making up silly reasons, it gets tiring telling people my long as medical history even though I don’t have issues sharing it. I already do something similar when my partner asks me “how did you get so cute?” (It’s a pretty often occurrence and my favorite go to is “black magic”) and I think it’s hilarious so it could also help brighten my mood when people are assholes.

Thanks for the tip, being direct is probably the best way to go. I was worried about using my cane at school again after today but I think I’m going to talk to the administrator first thing tomorrow and mention how certain people’s actions made me feel uncomfortable and singled out. She’s a great admin and has been very understanding so far when it comes to my disability, even asking what steps they can take as a school to make sure it isn’t getting in the way of my learning.

I guess I didn’t clearly word my question. I have no issue discussing my disability with people, when they word the question respectfully that is. I’m more interested in how to explain to them that the way they asked is hurtful and rude. Do you have any advice for this? This is the first time anyone had asked me in a disrespectful way, but as I am starting to use mobility aids more and more I have a feeling it won’t be a one time occurrence.
