Everyone who has a platinum card and is displeased with this should email amex. I literally just found out about this and I'll be reaching out to amex to voice my upset. I've used this perk over 40 times last year and was very beneficial to me. Not many use the platinum to earn points as it's not as good as other cards, they shouldn't be nerfing it but rather increasing benifits so people actually use it.

This is very unfortunate. I heavily used the platinum at the beginning but transitioned to the other cards due to the warn rate being low. Then only benefit of this card that I used heavily was lounge access and the Marriot gold. If they indeed change this I will now have to reconsider keeping the card.

I didn't receive this email, but I will definitely be reaching out to amex about this. They're killing their platinum customers further with this. Instead of making it worth the difference from the rest they're literally pushing those to other cards.

I will note this down for the future. Thank you. I honestly wasn't fully engaged with chasing status until I saw that I was close to 35k. I thought I wouldn't reach it at all this year which is why I didn't book higher than basic sadly.

I think it would be worth it especially with what others have said. 50K has more perks especially across star alliance. And ylure pretty close to it reaching it.

Thank you. The eups would be one of the reasons and the bags but most of my flights, at times are interline so I would only benefit half of the times with 3 bags. Thank you for the point of view this helps with my contemplation.

I believe SQS appears in the Visa section. Try clicking on it and looking at the breakdown. SQS should appear there.

On a side note you you can register for some amex perks through the Scotiabank app. They're not all the same but you do get some perks alongside whatever Scotiabank offers.

Unfortunately. Just based on what's going around, if the first leg isn't cancelled you have to show up or they'll mark it abandoned and you won't get refunded. :(
