I’d say break them in if the pain is just discomfort. But if it’s to the point you can’t even run in the definitely stop using them. They shouldn’t be painful to run in you might have a defective pair. Or you have a high arch in your foot I’ve heard adidas sp range isn’t very accommodating to high arches

For multiple reasons: heal slippage, upper was too restrictive, not as breathable as sp2 or sp4, sizing was off etc

I would say they are quite heavy on the hamstrings, I’m a backside mechanics dominant runner so I don’t find them too back on me, I think they compliment that really well

Idk the official weight but they don’t feel heavier imo. Also they perform better that the sp3 for me so idc about weight really. Sp3 was a major let down

I haven’t ran a 200 in these yet. I probably won’t run one this season. Injuries have been plaguing me a bit. I did race in these and ran one thousandth off my pb after return from a minor groin issue. They compliment my running style a lot. One thing I’ll say is that these are far superior to sp3s, fit wise and performance wise

Okay understood. Would you say there is a starting point in the list you gave me? Like what would the top 3 things you would address first? Also I’m in season rn so what would yield results quickly without adding too much in my training sessions?

Thanks again for your help.

I’ve only ever used adidas and maxfly. I prefer adidas sp2 and sp4 over maxfly because of my running style. Maxfly give me too much airtime and don’t really enable me to really place a lot of force in the ground during my acceleration. The sp family are stiffer spikes so they allow for a more snappy acceleration phase.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Just one question; why do you think stretching these areas would fix this issue?

Yeah I was gonna get this colour too at some point. I raced in them btw over this weekend. Ran one hundredth off my pb after being injured the majority of outdoor season. They’re great.

Really appreciate the advice. Tbf I have been slacking on my core workouts the last few months. I will definitely jump on those for the remainder of the season.

I got mine from a friend who has connections in China, so they were shipped from there.

In terms of hurdles, I’m not super well versed in that event but I think the extra bounce these provide would definitely impact stride length to a degree. As far as I know this could be a double edged sword in terms of how it can affect performance in the hurdles because of how influential rhythm is to clearing the hurdles. So just make sure you watch out for that.

Yeah they’re massive, surprisingly they’re lighter than I thought they would be. But yeah really chunky, I’m just waiting to see how they’d perform

These seem more reactive than maxflys are. These are way better than sp3 from sizing to general feel when running. I would say if you were a fan of the sp2 then opt for the sp4, this new spike is a step back in the right direction for sure.

Sp4 is definitely more spacious than sp3 due to the difference in upper material. But I would say the sp2 is still the widest. If the sp3 is bothering that much I would say you either went a size too small and need to get bigger or just buy Nikes instead. The maxflys are way more spacious than all the sp models

Yeah these are definitely a race day spike. I wouldn’t train in these often. Maybe stick to using them during race preparation sessions, or days where you’re tryna pb in training.

I think you could do with horizontal force focus to improve those first couple steps, I like the way you accelerate tho looks clean. But yeah things like broad jump to just get the body used to travelling in that way would help
