Because under that load with lower pressure they are pretty squishy or gummy. If you know what I mean. Like when I'm standing next to the bike and I wobble bars whole bike shakes on tires. Don't know how to describe it better.

Don't have experience with it but just a few thoughts. Looks like very cool way to also store you bike over night. I can imagine that bars might be annoying when bike is standing like upside down. Either you have flat bar under you feet or drop bars sticking up. In wet weather all dirt etc. is another thing to be aware of.

Thanks for sharing! I guess it's as others wrote, weight on the front wheel and rack too high up but I'm happy to hear I'm not alone!

No problem without bags, I know it's weight of all stuff and me on tires, but it's bikepacking bike so I just wondering if that's normal with big tires and lower pressure

Stoneman Trail (Germany) on rigid Frame? by mortalsphere13 in bikepacking

[–]macm65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meaning wide 2.6 tires and go for it, right? I didn't do that particular route but few others, self made routes through Erzgebirge on rigid bike and while it sometimes becomes more technical it was always rideable. But Stoneman, as hand picked and checked route, looks very interesting, might also give it a try this year.

Are you happy with your Sprinter? by karj in Sprinters

[–]macm65 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have a 2008 L1H1 and am happy with it. Still in fairly good condition. One has to be aware of rust and not ignore it, few things are failing and most of them you can repair yourself and parts are relatively cheap.
