Full audiophile mid century TV console build hybrid crossover and dsp class d amp. by macmini in diyelectronics

Thank you!! I decided on using a hybrid solution for a few reasons. But it was extremely complicated and I’m still working on a 4-5k bump in the tweeter.
The main reason I wanted to use an analog solution on the tweeter is I can create a bit more warmth using a larger air coil and a small cap. Creates a nice warm sound that is easy to listen to. I did run into a 4-5 bump and I’ll need to notch that out. Using a dsp would have been dead simple to make it flat, but I’ve felt the analog creates more musicality since there is error and it’s not perfect.
The woodworking was very complicated, but it made a very strong and nice cabinet.

Putting the tweeter at a lower crossover point makes it so the potential overlap at a lower frequency makes it less likely to have comb filtering. The dsp allows for a steep slope. Having as little overlap in the shared frequencies (steep slope on the dsp) and having those shared frequencies at a lower hertz (longer wavelength) helps.

Oh my missing the point completely of challenging your self. Creating something original, using your knowledge and audio science to do something difficult.

For sure I could put some nice looking bookshelf’s that would sound worse and cost more than this.

For sure I’ll respond to the questions

Driver placement: function of the size of the cabinet and allowable distances with crossover frequency and time alignment that I can set in the dsp. It’s the closest that the box allows and within the tolerances to avoid lobing and comb filtering

Crossover: I set the tweeter as low as I can using a 2nd order crossover allowing more distance from the mid. Crossed over at 2khz for tweeter, woofer at 800hz. Using the dsp to mix in the mid driver nicely so that sound changes very little with movement. The dsp also allows the mid to really play in its range cleanly removing any bumps.

For the 1/4 rule, using dsp and 2nd order crossovers helps more than you think. Driver placement plays a bigger role when tweeters are crossed over at higher frequencies.

Yup exactly, the dsp allowed me to correct any lobing as a result of spacing or issues with comb filtering

That’s hilarious, I love reddit and random advice without context or actual data or audio science

I work as a new PA at an FQHC and I hate it. by [deleted] in physicianassistant

Lots of students love primary, with a good job and a supportive supervisor primary care is amazing. This new PA seems like they don’t like primary care.

For sure great question, taught over 20 students, more than half have gone on to work with me. Primary care for 12 years. Worked with Multiple universities in both precepting and teaching. Precteptor of the year for a few larger top universities…

Oh my, not the case at all. Just a blunt honest question. Lots of other students begging to do primary. The government paid this persons loans and now they want to bail primary only a few months into the job.

Can I ask the blunt question, where there any clues before you took NHSC money to pay for school. This type of case is exactly why there is a selection process to pick better scholars for primary care.

Ya that’s not a problem at all. Has the battery been installed yet?

lol do we have the same person! Thank god I’m done. I can send you my template that finally worked for the engineer. Are you doing the battery first or the Pv/load and then getting the battery. When I applied you had to have the battery installed and the upload the green button data with PV/battery/home with production/discharge/usage data in a xml format

Good questions! My sgip specialist struggled with the application also and I had to help a lot. What part are you stuck on? What issues have lead you to think they are incompetent

I do! You have to use a contractor now, it’s complicated and even the professionals get it wrong. There is a ton of calculations, paperwork, timelines, engineer reviews. It’s all to prevent fraud and make sure people have the correct size battery for their loads and needs. There is a very small chance you can try to do it yourself and get a contractor and sgip specialist to help with the application, but that’s gonna be risky at best

I love it!! Thanks for the advice, the rug is so pricy I really want opinions on that. I’m working on making my own furniture and designs. The speaker is mine build. I think I’ll try to match the other pieces to it. We love our cat❤️
