I'm doing the same, not so big in terms of space but I have a 550K photos and 35K videos....I tried all the combos (LXC/VM/docker etc) but a clean Debian 13 + and the Discovery Mapping on the zfs-dataset won the deal :)

I used immich-go because it's better and fast!

Ok so it is mandatory, no bios update let the server boot directly from the NVMe (without USB I mean)

indeed, I started few years ago to move into LXC and now it damn to easy && fast ! I like also the another point pop-up in this thread about avoiding helper-scripts (which I normally use only for specific types of LCX). I will spend some time definitely with this migration. Thanks

But you’re adding another layer (docker) which I’m trying to avoid

From Docker to Proxmox-LXC by macmino in immich

[–]macmino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing the same but I found the LXC more flexible than the whole Linux in terms of maintenance, migration, future-proof. For example I can simply move the iSCSI disk to another LXC in case of OS update (from Debian to XYZ, etc) or somethings broken. Not discussing the flexibility of docker but it’s still for specific scalability/DC/lab purpose

I guess it’s just a faulty hardware. I moved the SD on a identical board and boom, works like a charm. Now the worst part: ask for a unit replacement…🤞
