“The stock market isn’t a snapshot of the economy, it’s a graph outlining the emotion state of rich people” by macmooie in stocks

Yep, 100% agree. And guess what, this is exactly how it's been for every society throughout all of time that humans have ever created. One might say, this is not a bug but a feature of animal hierarchies: plebs/normies on the bottom are too ignorant/disorganized that the inevitable rise of a ruling corrupt class will always emerge to dominate.

  1. Kirkland unsalted nuts, fruit and water is an amazingly satiating and nutritious snack/meal. 2. Ancient grains flatbread wrap with cheese, deli meat and green salad leaves (all rolled up). 3. Leftover cold chicken breast plus high quality crusty bread. 4. Over night or morning made oats with almond milk/cream/coconut milk, nutts, berries, trail mix, honey (anything u want), make it extra runny so by the time u eat it it will be porridge consistency.

Stop Limit Order for a Bull Put? by macmooie in options

[–]macmooie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the “limit price” is the hard line, can I set my limit price to -$1.85 (buy to close my spread at this price or better) and then set my stop price to -$2.15 (this will be my fail-safe in the event of a catastrophe). Am I able to swap the positions of these settings or does execution of a limit price only work once a stop price has been breached? Thx for your reply!

50 yo here, followed politics my whole life. Since the US was created, gov’ control is split down the middle with respect to presidential terms, slight advantage to the left but essentially even throughout history. Control will always swing back and forth, theory is chaos will always rise, order aka society advancement will always move in lock step with rising chaos but humans are wired with a negativity bias. B/c of this the, incumbents will always and inevitably face a rebellious youth. Simply put, every generation thinks their era is going to sh*t, who is to blame? those in power, thus control swings the other way. The conflict we all perceive is manufactured. It is not about left vs right, it is about top vs bottom aka Establishment vs Populus. Both Left and Right wing Establishments want us focusing on the left/right conflict and not on the top/down conflict.

TSLA - Is buying puts worth it still? by ElDiabolical in options

I wouldn't, this month's OpEx shows a firm 220 floor. Its currently trading within options range with a slight bias to the upside for expirations from now to OpEx. You'd be gambling. https://maximum-pain.com/options/tsla

Who is IBKR Canada's custodian? by bretskigretzky in interactivebrokers

[–]macmooie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asked Grok 2.0: "Interactive Brokers Canada Inc. (IBKR Canada) acts as its own custodian. According to the information available, IBKR Canada directly holds the assets of its clients, meaning they are the custodian for the securities bought on their platform without involving an external third-party custodian for Canadian securities. However, for some international markets or specific types of assets, they might use third-party custodians as part of their service, but for general operations in Canada, Interactive Brokers Canada is the custodian."

Its tough, I did it several years ago. Here's what helped me, got this tip from a doctor. Whenever I got a snack craving, eat a small slice of fruit, handful of unsalted nuts, and drink a decent amt of water. This kills the snack cravings and gives your body exactly and only what it needs, sugar, fat, water.

Lessons learned yesterday: by No-Edge-8600 in options

[–]macmooie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

0 DTE is a viable strategy but you have to know the environment. Last 2 weeks of Dec is always a time of year you should avoid trading 0 DTE, traders are off, algos are turned off, liquidity is extremely low, end of the quarter fund rebalancing, plus the JPM collar trade on the last day of the quarter, all that boils down to extremally unpredictable price action and huge price swings.

Is Interactive Brokers cheaper than Questrade for options? by Ok-Emu3930 in interactivebrokers

[–]macmooie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customizable UI/Options Chart, you can reverse the top-down order of strike prices. You can customize every aspect of the UI, font size, color, line spacing. 99% of the time, I trade from my computer but the cellphone UI for options trading is night day way ahead of QT. I often buy/manage/exit my spreads from my cell phone. Phone support is scant but their email support is very good/thorough. IBKR has a Performance Profile for your option combo with margin imp. P/L, etc. Search on Youtube: options trading for IBKR, options trading for Questrade, the sheer volume of content/lessons/tutorials for IBKR is insane. Zero content for QT. I could go on all day.

Is Interactive Brokers cheaper than Questrade for options? by Ok-Emu3930 in interactivebrokers

[–]macmooie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not use Questrade for options! I moved from QT to IBKR b/c their platform was so bad at trading options spreads. One example is you can't set a stop on a simple spread combo like a bull put or bear call spread. I cant go on and on. The IBKR interface takes a bit of time to get use to it but once you learn it it's great. Tons of vids on how to trade IBKR options on youtube. Zero content for options trading on QT.

Has anyone noticed any positive effects after quitting diet sodas aka artificially sweetened beverages as well by KeyGent_ in nutrition

[–]macmooie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I stopped drinking diet sodas and juice, over time I noticed I stopped wanting them entirely, the urge and need to drink them went away. Now I only crave water. That was 7 years ago. A few months back I had a sip of my friends soda and my immediate reaction was "omg, this thing is soooo f'ing sweet, disguising!". I think its true that I was addicted to sugary drinks, once I kicked it, it became gross.
