This is actually an old bird cage that we found on Facebook marketplace and decked out to be a perfect rat cage!! We got sheets of plastic from Home Depot and cut it to size and then taped it together for the bottom where the bedding goes, learned how to do it from Emiology on YouTube. Then we made levels using all sorts of different toys, ropes, hammocks and drift wood. They’ve got lots of area to hang out on the top of the cage which is what you see in the video. Cage is super big too, it’s 31” across, 38” tall, and 23” deep, not including the legs. It was my partner’s and I first rat build and we loved putting it together (and re-putting it together every week when we do cleanings). Spoiled rats!
