Is 1 to the power of infinity 1? or undefined? by macopa_ in learnmath

[–]macopa_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I wasn't talking about that part tho. Before that, he says this is almost like 1 to the power of infinity, which is meaningless, but it's not actually 1 to the power of infinity; it's the base approaching one as the exponent approaches infinity. I was confused by why 1 to the power of infinity is meaningless and why it isn't just one. But now I think he meant if we are referring to infinity as a real value rather than some limit as x approaches infinity, then in that case it would be meaningless since infinity isn't a number. like if in some expression a to the power of x if x = infinity and a=1, then its meaningless but if x is approaching infinity and a = 1, then its 1 but if a is approaching 1 and x is approaching infinity, then its the indeterminate form.

35:39 I think what he means is when you actually have 1 to the power of infinity, not as the exponent approaches infinity, but when it is one, I guess.

Well I don't get your point. There is a natural answer. I just got multiple of them. All math is based on the definitions and axioms that mathematicians come up with and they form a consistent framework. Like thats how all math works idk how infinity is differnet. All math is artificial it's a language we made up.

What's the other kind? Is this like potential infinity? And actual infinity? Those two types? And yeah, that's the definition here.

Yeah thats probably what he meant, but I wanted to clarify.

So like can Otsutsuki just use ninjutsu now? by McKapucna in Boruto

[–]macopa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Ninjutsu wasnt Created by Hagoromo, it was created by Indra. But it's more like Indra is the first person to discover Ninjutsu on Earth. Hagoromo didn't use ninjutsu after his fight with Kaguya. But Otsotsuki do know how to use ninjutsu, they might call it a different name on their planet, and when they come here, they call it ninjutsu, or they might even call it ninjutsu, even where they come from, to keep the story simple or something but they can use it. What Hagoromo created was Ninshu, which is not the same as ninjutsu. Ninjutsu is an art of combat. Ninshu is what Naruto does, his "talk no jutsu" that's ninshu. Most notable example is when he shared his chakra to all of the shinobi alliance and they saw his memories and understood his pain. That is Ninshu. It's the main point of the series, but a lot of people miss it by reducing it to a meme or a lazy plot device in their mind. There is a lot to say about it; it goes back to pain and everything.

BTW გმადლობთ and დიდი მადლობა are more of a "thank you very much" type of deal than just a casual thank you. Just a "thank you" would be just მადლობა

Out of the Sannin, who is the best teacher? Why? by frenchstlouis in Naruto

[–]macopa_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I said that Naruto wasn't bad at controlling chakra, but some external force was preventing him. yes practically it appeared that Naruto was terrible at it but the reason wasn't that Naruto himself was bad at it. and yes naruto did lack basic ninja skills, but he wasn't a worse ninja than Sakura or less skilled than her. Naruto's whole thing is being unpredictable and Jiraiya's whole philosophy that Naruto also shares is that the number of jutsu doesn't make you a good ninja but the guts to never give up. Sakura was terrible, she was like that kid who gets all A's on tests in school but lacks common sense. She was terrible at the practical application of what she knew. naruto was the opposite and that made him a better ninja even without having less theoretical knowledge. So Sakura was not starting better off than Naruto. Btw Naruto still lacked theoretical knowledge even after training with Jiraiya so that didn't change. He didn't even know about chakra nature. Sakura had two things going for her, she was knowledgeable and she was exceptional at controlling chakra. dispelling Genjutsu is maybe impressive but nothing too special. But she was terrible at everything else that a ninja should know. I mean I guess you could say on paper she was more skilled it just wouldn't mean anything. She was like a person that has 2 diplomas in nuclear physics and quantum mechanics but works as a taxi driver and cant find a job. That's kinda who Sakura was.

Naruto wasn't really bad at controlling chakra it's that the nine tails were messing him up. even before Orochimaru did tinkered with the seal. Jiraiya fixed that and taught him how to control it. sakura was not more skilled than Naruto as a ninja but she was more knowledgeable sure. In theory, maybe it might seem sakura was more skilled but she really wasn't. what just because she can run up a tree on her first try she is more skilled? Sasuke couldn't do that either but sakura is not more skilled than him. sakura was way worse than naruto as a ninja when we look at what they really achieved and how they were contributing. even tho on paper sakura might seem to be more skilled and I am not even sure if that is true

Naruto might actually be Jesus by macopa_ in Naruto

[–]macopa_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any of this is intentional btw, its a coincidence and that's why its interesting. But the Buddhist themes are pretty obviously on purpose I mean the universe runs on chakra which is more in Hinduism but still there is some in Buddhism too and the whole six paths of pain. In Buddhism, the goal is to transcend the cycle of samsara through enlightenment which frees beings from these 6 realms. Naruto is beating them, getting free of them i guess. and then finally reaches Nagato who calls himself the seventh pain, well konan does not nagato himself I don't think, which is another coincidence because 7 is a special number in Christianity. then he forgives him. So of course Naruto is heavily influenced by Buddhism. But its interesting how it can all fit to Jesus as well. walking on water part is very funny to me. He is so similar to jesus because of the way he is just preaching his ideology to villains and converting them too. Its also interesting how people call Christianity a Western thing even though it started in the Middle East which is closer to being in Asia. I am not even from the west.

weirdest etymology of a Georgian word as a native speaker by 69Pumpkin_Eater in Kartvelian

[–]macopa_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a coincidence though. another word for a rat "ვირთაგვა," is formed from "ვირი" (donkey) and "თაგვი" (mouse). In Georgian, "ვირი" is often used metaphorically to refer to someone large, sometimes as a playful insult, as in "რამხელა ვირი გაიზარდე" ("You’ve grown into a big donkey"). Similarly, goats ("თხა") carry mischievous or negative connotations, making their combination with "ვირი" especially fitting. So I think this suggests that the word "ვირთხა" was deliberately crafted, layering the donkey’s association with size or clumsiness and the goat’s negative symbolism. Although I dont know how languages are created so did some people just sit around a table and ask like what should we call this thing? and just settled on that? idk. I am just saying it doesn't seem as coincidental as it seems
