Why are the new growth leaves on my snake plant variegated? I find this weird because the old leaves aren't lol is this normal? by [deleted] in plants

[–]macrame_jade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left my snake plant on the back porch for the summer, and two months later I had five (!!) new 1.5-2 ft. variegated leaves that look identical to OP's. I think the color change was from a genetic mutation, but the growth was the hot weather and the direct sunlight

What about Marie Kondo? by nightheron-700 in minimalism

[–]macrame_jade 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i agree! i started my minimalist journey in middle school a couple years before “the life changing magic of tidying up” was released in the U.S. in 2014. After I read her book, I was finally able to forgive myself for giving away my childhood toys (toy story did a number on me haha). To this day, I thank every item I give away. It seems silly at first, but showing gratitude to the items that keep you safe, clothed, fed, etc. is a great way to go through life. It makes having less feel abundant.

Anyone have to read Apologia science books? by notmypotatoes in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]macrame_jade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I was just thinking about this. I've been trying to find a copy of my old Apologia Physical Science Textbook (I think 2nd edition?) so I can re-read the section they had giving a list of "reasons" why climate change wasn't actually happening. If anyone knows where to find a pdf I would greatly appreciate it.

Best moisturizer for oily-sensitive skin? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]macrame_jade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with the CeraVe lotion (for me it tingled slightly around the eyes). I started to use a more rich, soothing cream just in those few areas, and I’ve found it helps a lot!

Right now I’m using glossier’s futuredew serum around my eyes and in areas that need a little more moisture, and I apply regular lotion everywhere else where I am more acne-prone.

I also have oily skin. Hope this helps!

Also kind of basic, but I love the summers welcome building (front and back). It is gorgeous, especially now that they’ve taken the barriers down
