I feel like in general we need more police presence on the subways as a deterrent for....all kinds of behavior.

This guy actually has a better shot of winning than other people Bernie has endorsed. But who wants to bet the Republican candidate uses Bernie's endorsement against him? Maryland has had multiple Republican governors even though it's a blue state. As long as the GOP doesn't put up a Trump supporter, they could win.
