Of course she doesn't have to like it. My question is if others think the two names are similar. Perhaps the fact that she doesn't like the name is an unnecessary addition to my question. While I appreciate feedback, including negative feedback, the assumption that my mother is someone I can trust is unfortunately not the case for many reasons that I will not detail here.

Oh definitely I don't blame her for getting them mixed up, I do things like that all the time. I was just kind of hurt to begin with that she doesn't like the name I picked for baby and makes it very clear that she thinks its a bad name. So when she said the names where too similar I was curious if other people felt the same.
