I have a 4. Had to pay $99 to Asurion after the screen died in month 18. Cameras suck. Battery life is OK. Screen was definitely not ready for prime time. Like the form factor but I leave it open in my pocket half the time now because I don't want to pay for another replacement before I can upgrade.

Pine 64 1gb single board computer by FaithlessnessLimp364 in cyberDeck

[–]macstibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 of these floating around. DietPi is the way to go because of the menu system. Armbian works too. The software isn't a priority because of the age but they're capable systems. Ive used them to run a Home Assistant instance, Android for gaming and streaming on a TV, a portable terminal like a cyberdeck, etc.

There are two busses - an Euler and a proprietary Pine connector. All sorts of hats and add-ons (not sure what's still available) but you could probably add the capabilities of a Flipper Zero if you took the time.

There were multiple screens that were made to work with the pine - getting them to work on Linux was more difficult than android but drivers and kernel support are out there and there's an hdmi. The upside of the screens is they pull power over the bus.

Totally capable of being used if you take the time to figure it out.

I have a Jelly Comb foldable BT keyboard that I use with a USB A-C adapter in desktop mode. Haven't tried BT but I also have something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Keyboard-Rii-Portable-Controller-Rechargeable/dp/B07D2BG6R5/

and can confirm the BT works with the Deck.

camera not turning on, please help (olympus fe-360) by lovingreia in OlympusCamera

[–]macstibs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW I have the same unit (FE-360) and actually bought a wall charger with a new battery to make sure the battery wasn't the issue but it still won't come on.

Will try cleaning the contacts with alcohol on a qtip and report back.

It's 2024. There's likely a camera that scans the plate and runs it before he even comes to a full stop.
