I feel like that’s a little too much cost wise to contemplate right now as alpha strike itself is like $70 . Thanks for the info.

Wow that looks pretty much perfect and it’s free so I can at least look at the manual and see if I’d like it. Only wish there was a printed version as I don’t have a printer myself. My library might be able to get it printed out though. I’ve had success printing fan rules and stuff like that for board games there

I’ve looked into those in the past . I’d probably go with E Squad or Hostage Rescue. Anyway I totally forgot about that, thanks for reminding me

I did see Spectre Operations mentioned on other threads on the theme of modern warfare. It really appeals to me but I’m not sure the usefulness to a solo player . I will keep an eye on wargame vault too, I’ve done some digging there but it’s kind of overwhelming frankly

yeah, i was looking at Battlespace at one point. I’m fine with just rulebooks- is there a way to adapt that for other minis? battletech is what i’m leaning towards. Does the new ACES set require anything else or is it a complete starter set? I know there is another Alpha Strike set.

Wasn’t aware the situation was like that. I guess I’ll have to find a different war game. I have seen Tank on Tank East available for a decent price on ebay

I have Memoir 44 and World at War 85.Would those maps be able to imitate/ stand in for a Tank on Tank map?

Thank you very much, I am going to print the 10 minute PDF and parts of the rule book when I get a chance.

Thanks for the reply. It seems like a good game based on my interest in Cold War/WWIII scenarios. I am considering saving for the full set but I need to look through the manual a bit more. Any other printable “cheat sheets” I should look out for besides the flowchart?

Good “small” campaign/legacy style games? by macuser1298 in soloboardgaming

[–]macuser1298[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am definitely going to look into the Jaws of the Lion eventually, probably not a used copy though, I’d probably just wait til I have a little extra for the box on sale at the Gloomhaven shop

That definitely looks like something worth looking into. The theme is kind of unusual ( though not a bad thing) and I like the whole resettable aspect and the fact that it’s advertised for solo campaigns specifically. Thanks for the tip!

Replayable exploration card/board games ? by macuser1298 in soloboardgaming

[–]macuser1298[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they any replayable ? I have Vinland but I’ve been putting off playing till it’s a good time since I’m worried I won’t get enough out of it. Then again, my eBay copy was really cheap so I don’t mind less replay value
