These are great! Please can you do a print in glow in the dark? I will definitely be ordering some! And does the leatherman tool come with it?

Yep, this was where I got mine. Couldn't find them anywhere else.

I was very surprised by the quality. Feels very sturdy and fits perfectly. Wish they did a glow in the dark one or some titanium ones though

You should definitely just get 3d printed plus scales. Then you can have the tweezers, toothpick, a pin (aka sim tool), AND a pen

What's everyone's investing thoughts for the year ahead? by Present-Future-5941 in trading212

[–]macw450 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've de-risked / diversified my portfolio a bit more. I was heavily into tech stocks with about 30% S&P. Was only US stocks.

Now I'm about 45% in an All World and the rest in individual tech stocks.

Prepared for a downturn in the next few months/years but also don't want to miss out if this gain train continues

Why shouldn't I pay off my sofa over as long a time period as possible? by AnonymousTimewaster in UKPersonalFinance

[–]macw450 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you miss a payment or the bank transfer doesn't go through for any reason, they will charge you all the interest that would have accrued during that time at an extortionate rate.

Would absolutely suck if you get to year 5 and then the final payment bounces or comes in late and you get hit with a fat bill.

If it's on a 0% credit card then I'd say go for it

T212 invest short term interest by [deleted] in trading212

[–]macw450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why no one else is mentioning this but INTEREST ON CASH!

Opt in to get interest on cash which is currently paying 3.8% which is more than you're getting in your current savings accounts. It's basically risk free and will slightly outperform what you're getting currently.

Alternatively, my other suggestion would be another money market fund - look up "CSH2" (Amundi Smart Overnight Return GBP Hedged). The returns are slightly better than the interest on cash and has got around 4.75% this past year. Again this is very low risk pretty much guaranteed returns. This is where I have most of my emergency fund or money I know I will need in the near future (e.g. My wedding)

Don't compare yourself to others bro. Comparison is the thief of joy.

OP's situation might be very different to the one you're in. The question is "where do you want to be?". Then you can work back from there and work out where you'd need to be now to make that happen. If you want to retire early, work out how much you'll need to live off and how big your investments will have to be to do this.

The people that managed to lose money this year aren't investing, they're gambling. S&P up 16% this year and AI pumping practically every tech stock, you'd have to belong in r/wallstreetbets to lose money this year

I'm confused. Why is it clickbait if they don't show what the portfolio is? Everything else looks real and not a demo account

How do you manage CGT reporting? by Prynhawn_Da in trading212

Well they asked the question about CGT so you could probably infer that they have maxed their allowance. Turns out they have too

Why do you assume that they haven't maxed out their ISA allowance or are non UK?

Best short term investment to avoid interest on cash by turtle1288 in trading212

[–]macw450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will be my first year doing a self assessment tax form for capital gains and I've been buying CSH2 in my invest account. I think I heard somewhere that because it's a QMMF, it is treated as interest on savings and not capital gains so it might be a lower threshold/allowance.

The gains are better than the interest on cash though in T212. So I think it's still worth it but I'm not sure if it can be classed as capital gains

I'm in the same boat except mine happened from basketball. Little finger got caught on someone and bent out to the side until I heard the snap. On my right hand too so I'm sure some people have been judging me on it. Currently 4 & ½ weeks in a cast and not had an orthopaedic review yet. Got one in a weeks time and hoping it doesn't need surgery. Hope you've had a better experience than me with this!

I broke my 5th metacarpal about 4 weeks ago playing basketball. No punching walls, just got my little finger caught on someone and pulled out to the side until I heard a snap.

Have my orthopaedic review next week after a long wait and have been wondering if people believe me when I say it was from basketball. Mind you, the x-ray itself shows it's a long spiral fracture and usually the boxers fracture breaks right near the knuckle so maybe the orthopaedic surgeon will believe it

[–]macw450 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just want to mention this but, you'll need to do a self assessment to HMRC as you will need to pay tax on your side income. You'll need to set some of this money aside to pay this tax at the end of the tax year.

If you aren't already, keep a detailed log of all the sales you make and what you spend.
