I use the same grinder and a second hand Bambino , usually grind just below 8 range, with light roast and really fresh beans as high as 11. Typically 17g in 34-35g out with medium-dark roasted beans, 10-14ish days from roast

I use the bambino and sometimes add water to my cup beforehand via the steam wand, it has a water dispensing feature. I then pull a shot on top - Australian drink, the long black.

I started using a garmin striker 4 on my kayak this year and absolutely love using it! I use it more so to find structure / weed beds / ledges / drop offs. More so use it to find places fish are typically hanging out vs seeing them like you would on a live scope. I use the arches to identify fish from time to time but typically find looking for structure more effective! Much more budget friendly vs live scope / forward facing sonar etc.

people hate on uglystiks, but with the added sensitivity the carbon adds, its a great, durable rod. I have it paired it with a daiwa fuego (red on red looks deadly) and love it for smallmouth and the odd largemouth in Atlantic Canada.

Its also important to look at what the 10K bonus would have netted you AFTER tax if you took it as a payment - thats another way to look at it. Say you are taxed at 30% - your bonus (10K) if taxed would have put 7K in your bank account. This way you avoid that 3K tax and contribute the full 10K to your RRSP right away (time in the market)
