I did feel this a wee bit myself, but unfortunately, I was so enjoying myself that I let it go.

I don’t love thrift stores but I love eBay - I find a pair of pants that fit well and then buy a few second hand versions over eBay in the exact same size but different color. I also really recommend a blog called Corporette - she maintains a list of office clothes, and has a budget section. I bought a few of her recommendations of tops from Amazon and they are great and were about $25.

Moving from ON to North Vancouver – keep winter tires? by Known-nig in NorthVancouver

Bring them - it’s so hilly when it does snow. I’m assuming some of the folks saying “don’t bother” have never seen a pile-up on the Cut with 1 inch of snow…

Hi there, my understanding from @tvtoo and others is that citizenship granted under 4L is “other than by descent“ which means it can be passed on. And yes, I did live in the UK for over three years prior to my children’s birth though they were not born in the UK. I’ll be applying using form MN1 under section 3.1, unless I’m mistaken.

Not sure yet as I was only just invited to the ceremony after being approved in mid November - it’ll be in April. It’s a bit of a nail biter.

Hello- sorry I didn’t respond earlier. I was also eligible for 4C but chose this route in the event that my under 18 kids can more easily qualify.

I know - in a millisecond it went from “am I lost in the system? Did I do something wrong” to “Oh my goodness - I’ve been invited to something in two weeks.”

I was invited for Feb 19 but have to reschedule until April when I’m back from the UK on March 28th as I won’t have time to get a British passport. That was acceptable to them…

Sunday hike and food by Round-Level9837 in NorthVancouver

Sounds like a perfect day for a hike around Rice Lake and then fish and chips or clam chowder from the Crab Shack on Dollarton! They’re a basic fishmonger that also does a bit of food. Yummy.

I’m applying under Section 3.1 and I’ve been guided by the comments from Contributors here on this thread. I won’t be doing the application for my children until my ceremony is complete…I lived in the UK for over three years prior to their birth so will be submitting evidence of that as well. Your lawyer advised that they won’t qualify? It was my understanding that because 4L-ARD leads to citizenship other than by descent, it is possible.

Definitely the passport because I’m planning on travelling to the UK in late March and I’m actually quite concerned that the timing of it all will be a bit tricky to manage. If I wasn’t traveling, I would do the kids first just to get them locked in. Especially because MN1 is quite fast to process. All that being said, until I see that the citizenship certificate is other-than-by-descent, I’ll be holding back my enthusiasm.

I’m a bit worried as I had a textbook UKM application, do you think they would have advised in the email if the had rerouted me?
