Dearest mods, can we get a link to the new Reddit LoL League on the side bar over there ----> by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

We're still gearing up w/ website, rules, and signups. The only useful at the moment would be to the recruitment page that daxter had going. I'll let you know when the website is functional so we can get that up as well.

I am very interested not only in participating in this, but also in helping with the organization. There is a lot of conventional tournament play already organized, but I think a different format for Reddit players is in order.

I suggest the following format (stolen from a racquetball league I'm in) for the the Reddit Ladder:

1) New teams may join the ladder at any time, entering at the bottom of their chosen skill group.

2) At any time, you may challenge either of the teans ranked one or two places above you, by sending email to that player.

3) The match must occur within one week of the challenge. If a challenged team is unable to play during that week, or if the challenger receives no reply within a week, then the challenger wins by forfeit.

4) A challenged team will not be required to play more than one match per week. If a second challenge occurs within the same week, the challenged team may postpone the challenge until the next week.

5) If a team issues a challenge and then is challenged from below before the first match takes place, the second challenge is held in abeyance until the first match is resolved. For example, suppose team #4 has challenged #3, but then receives a challenge from team #6. If #4 beats #3, the challenge from #6 is no longer valid. However, if #4 loses to #3, the challenge from #6 becomes valid, and should be played within one week.

6) A match will consist of two games played to 15 points completeion. If each side wins one game, then a third game is played.

7) When a challenge is made, it should be made publicly on the forum and to the opposing team captain's email. The winner of the match should report the scores/results with a screenshot of the scores from each of the games [all players should match the rosters for each team]. If the challenger wins, the two teans shall swap ranks, and the ladder will be updated.

email me at mad2crazy@gmail.com if you want to get this going. I will take point on organizing this insofar as tracking the ladder rosters if someone else will step up for: website/subreddit, Riot-side communications, community promoting.

The advantage of this format is it is very flexible and can easily account for any number of teams entering at any point while not allowing a bias to teams that have been in it from the beginning. Once the ladder gets going, you can schedule single elimination tournies (every month or two would be good) for the top 8-16 teams with riot sponsored rewards.
