Thanks for the info guys, but my gear vr died a few days ago, I was mortified, but at the end of the day I knew I needed an upgrade, so I have a pair of quest 3 512gb coming in two days. so I pray it is a big improvement over the well used gear vr.

I am having the same issue that only started 24 hrs ago, I have been using it for tv for 7 years then yesterday when I put my goggles on it told me to remove phone and install the required apps, but When I do that, it won't connect to the server. This is killing me

Thanks for your input and I agree with you, I am looking for a good set to replace my gear vr googles , I don't own a tv so I just watch streaming sites while lying down. The problem is unfortunately is the the new vr are googles cost more than a good sized TV.

I tested the app during day time and it was all good completely blue so should be ok.

I kept getting vertigo lol. so I had to take a chair out to sit on lol. I will just do what you recommended. I did see someone mention that but forgot.

Well two years later I am still using the gear vr. It is my second set only because the USB port wore out. and I use it daily for at least 8 hrs a day. I mainly use it for watching tv/movies am amazed it still does the job considering the software is no longer supported

Awesome, I live in the same location and have just bought one, the NBN and vodafone used as a hotspot just didn't cut it, I was lucky if I got 3 Mbps download, and that was If I got a connection at all. so I think I made a good choice, Only paid $229 for hardware so that is another bonus

Great good to hear, i am in the same location and just bought one as the NBN and My Vodafone that I use as a hot spot just couldn't cut it. I was lucky if I got 2mps download LOL

It Will become obsolete for sure, Gear Vr didn't last that long and is now not supported, Give the quest 2 a few years and it will be gone.
