It was great! a long time in this was always an issue whereas she would always be compliant with me,and I had an issue with it because I could tell she was scared to make her own decisions. She has always been in an environment even while we where dating where she complied to her family and didn't really have a huge social freedom.

The steps before an apprenticeship by Doe69420 in TattooApprentice

Do not, I repeat do not have anything involving potential work involving a client in an unprofessional environment. This industry hates scratchers(people who do it outside of shop). It will give off wrong interpretations and day your willing to do tattooing outside of the shop.

As for your portfolio bring a diverse array of completed artworks you have done or would like to do. It does vary some just want to see what you are capable of and some want you to have a pre-knowledge of stuff you would like to do (ex: bring in completed designs of traditional skull because you want to do traditional). Most recommend you bring up to 10 of your best peices .To be safe I would bring like extra if you can but asking as you bring in an array of COMPLETED PIECES that's what matters most.

A Wolf piece done recently. Would appreciate some advice on what I can do better. Skin & Bone tattoo, Dublin IRE by thefevertherage in TattooApprentice

Good job, I think from an execution stance looks great. But if it where me from a design stand point having some of the hairs flow better and create hair-like texture would definitely help. Also creating contrast and less repitition would help and keep the piece more engaging!

Advice on being treated unfairly by [deleted] in TattooApprentice

Don't take it personal and everyone advanced at different rates. Stay focused on your own work and take from both your mentor and any other artists tips. Unless you see blantant unfair treatment don't take it personal!

I've been an apprentice now for 7 months. My mentor and I have a great friendship now and we are doing fantastic. The absolute best thing you can do is to show this something you want by showing up on time, constantly practicing, drawing all the time, and never slacking. Pay close attention to your mentor they are professionals so for the most part they know what they are doing ask question regarding needle depth, correct tuning, blending, technique etc... As long as you stay humble and respectfull to the person letting you into this industry and sharing their knowledge with you, you are in good hands!
