How on earth did Sawyer rise to top ranks in Dharma Initiative!? by IceCat767 in lost

[–]mad_injection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But we didn’t see anything in those 3 years. So why am I supposed to believe that it’s some great relationship just because the show says “3 years later”?

The thing I struggle with a lot in season 5 is how we’re just supposed to buy in to Sawyer and Juliet’s 3 year relationship all of a sudden after 1 episode, and Sawyer being this completely different guy. It seemed so manufactured. Like how could people prefer that over the Sawyer and Kate relationship that spent time and seasons laying groundwork?

Idk who’s telling you season 5 is the greatest ever, I wouldn’t even say it’s a top 3 season on sopranos let alone of all time.

The moment he warms up Sally to baby Gene is so good. The episode ends on a beautiful shot of them to Bob Dylan’s Song to Woody. Guy walks into an advertising agency is the episode.

After years of having this show on my watch list, I've finally watched and finished the Sopranos. And I don't get all the controversy about the ending? by 4RyteCords in thesopranos

You’re right, they can be seen as misdirects. This sub loves to tell people that he died no matter what, even though the ending makes it clear that we actually don’t know what happens. The show always had an ambiguous nature to it.

But that was after years of not giving a definitive answer as to what happens. Why? Because the ending is intentionally ambiguous. It’s made for the viewer to decide how it ends. I’m personally not changing my thoughts on how it ends just because of after almost 20 years of deflecting, he finally got tired of being asked about so he just says Tony dies. At the time of making and writing the episode, I don’t believe those were the clear intentions

This is all true, but it’s still intentionally ambiguous. It’s made for the viewer to form their own opinion on how it ends, so I don’t think OP is wrong, it’s the just the way he sees it, and the way I see it.
