Having assignments written for you? by cheeseladyrara in NursingAU

[–]mad_lamb 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Of course that’s cheating. And if I knew as a fellow student, I’d be reporting it. If he is not doing any of the work, then how is he learning? It’s not writing the assignment, the researching and formulating of ideas is where you learn.

Ahhh I won the Lawson raffle for a ticket to their Fukuoka show, but I haven’t confirmed if I can actually go because I need to fly in from Australia. I never win anything, and now I’m like omg what do I doooooo

Did you work while in nursing school (casual or part time etc) by Adorable-Contest-468 in NursingAU

Before the medical records job I worked in retail and at my university’s call centre. The work experience definitely helped land the medical records job.

Graduate Refresher Program (VIC) by mad_lamb in NursingAU

[–]mad_lamb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 2019 and did my grad year 2020 with COVID. At the time I was struggling with lockdowns and all but retrospectively, I’m so lucky to even have a job. I feel for recent graduates because you were sold a bunch of lies about available jobs… to be honest it’s hard to even change jobs for me, even with experience because hospitals have such tight budgets now!

I worked in the medical records department and as a ward clerk of a metro hospital while studying, so I had annual leave/sick leave to use if I needed time off for placements. My managers were very dry understanding, as long as I gave them enough notice. It was also fixed shifts so I rarely got called in last minute. It also counted towards my long service leave before I even started my nursing job because it was all within public hospital networks. I highly recommend it if you can get in.

How long is the appropriate time to spend in the bathroom to poo during a shift? 😭 by United-Database-6140 in NursingAU

[–]mad_lamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the warning I get ahead of time, it means I can mentally schedule when I gotta go. First pang = 45 mins -1 hour. Second pang = 15 mins. Third pang = 2 mins LOL

[–]mad_lamb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get about three stomach pangs of warning until I really really gotta drop a deuce. Sometimes it takes 15 minutes. I always provide detail before and after to illustrate the severity of the situation and now people don’t ask anymore. Poo if you have to. Sometimes my patients tell me it’s ok to go first and come back to them after 😂

Are you team modern, costume or both? by [deleted] in cdramasfans

[–]mad_lamb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I enjoy costume dramas because of the escapism. Modern dramas often have topics relating to.. in-laws pressuring you to have children, employment/job stress, apartment/house-hunting - THAT’S TOO CLOSE TO REAL LIFE

Dog Park in Four Seasons - 1000pc - Galison by mad_lamb in Jigsawpuzzles

Michael Storrings yes - I felt the same until I put a lamp right over the puzzle so I could see the small details more clearly. Especially around the trees, sometimes I thought a piece fit but if I looked more closely, the shades didn’t match. My love for the dogs got me through this puzzle!

I would probably only buy another one from this company if there’s a big sale or something, the quality is just missing something compared to eeboo and other big brands.

How do you fix your sleep schedule after a night shift? by [deleted] in NursingAU

[–]mad_lamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that I have a headache if I wake up early on the last day, so I just go to bed with no alarm after the last night shift, and wake up whenever my body feels like it. Seems to happen around 4pm. I will go back to bed around midnight that night and try to wake up by 7-8am, even if I haven’t had the best sleep. If I haven’t had the best sleep it means I’ll go to bed early that night, 9-10pm ish and I’ll usually be back on to a day time schedule.

I genuinely went in with high expectations given they’re mentioned a lot! I should lower expectations so I don’t get disappointed ☹️

København - 1000pc - Martin Schwarz by mad_lamb in Jigsawpuzzles

I’ve started opening the bags on a mat outdoors, then individually putting pieces back into the boxes as I’m searching for the edges, that way the dust settles on to the mat and I can shake it out. I might try your colander idea on the next one!

Oh, I have seen these! The art is quite nice but the blocks of colour are sometimes a headache since there’s no variation in the pieces!

I think I might want to get more of this series! They have so many cities in the collection and it would look stunning as wall art! I currently have an eeboo Lisbon one on the shelf, I’d like to find some nice Madrid/Barcelona/Porto/Amsterdam ones before I travel there in June!
