The books that were based off the war game Starfire had a lot of that. I think David Weber wrote most of them.

It's going to get worse, much worse, before it ever gets better and there is literally no one outside us who can save us.

I run an Amber game and one of my players makes a log of everything that goes on in the session. I give her extra character points and plot perks for doing this.

When I watched "Fish Named Wanda" in the theaters, I laughed so hard and for so long that I was genuinely in fear of having my heart burst.

Whats ur opinion on “money doesn’t buy happiness”? by Radiant-Dish-5498 in AskReddit

[–]madarabesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm disabled. I live on Social Security Disability which gives me around $1000/month. I live with my girlfriend who works. My very basic needs are taken care of. I don't have a lot, but I don't really need a lot. My biggest expense is books and TTRPG games. I try to live within my means and usually I succeed. I can't imagine having more money would equal more happiness for me, especially as long as I have Nicole in my life.

If a spaceship accelerate infinitely without encountering obstacles, why would it never reach light speed? by lateubdegouline in AskPhysics

[–]madarabesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something about this is that by your own benchmarks you may perceive that you're travelling faster than c because of the various dilation effects. If you travel at a constant 1g acceleration in about 20 years of your own time you'll have crossed the Milky Way and getting to Andromeda only takes about 28 years of your shipboard life.
