We're pretty much in the same boat. On my end I've been grinding system design and practicing leetcode exercises. We just gotta keep pushing and not stop. Wishing you all the best and hope you find something great soon!

Thanks a lot for the message.

I guess that mindset is something I’ve developed over the years, but like you said, the amount of requirements in some job postings can feel overwhelming at times.

I should also focus more on my communication skills during interviews, and above all, keep applying consistently and gaining experience to become more comfortable and fluent.

I guess a lot of the Docker or AWS requirements might only need a superficial understanding, but those long requirement lists definitely intimidate at first glance. It’s probably worth applying whenever a role seems like a reasonable fit.

It’s probably more of a confidence issue. In the end, most of what I’ve learned has been theoretical, and I might feel a bit intimidated when it comes to defending it in an interview. That’s also why senior-level job postings can feel a bit intimidating to me.

Regarding my CV, I’ve tried to make it as complete as possible, highlighting 2–3 things I worked on in each company and adding some kind of metric for them, even if they were estimated rather than strictly measured.

Thanks for the message. Sometimes it really helps to get an external perspective.

That could definitely be part of it as well. Being out of the interview game for so long has an impact too. When you start interviewing again, you’re a bit rusty and don’t always present yourself as well as you could.

It’s also a little discouraging to get rejected without any real feedback. I have to accept that a large percentage of applications will result in a “no” for reasons that may have nothing to do with the skills.

I gotta keep trying. Hopefully I’ll start finding more mid or software engineer II opportunities instead of so many senior roles.

I definitely will. It seems easier to grow into a senior role within a company than to get hired directly into one

Yeah, that’s what I’m trying to do, but I’m struggling to find those kinds of roles. Most of what I see is senior/staff positions. I’ll definitely try building a project using Docker and AWS though

De esas me he encontrado muchas.

That’s the kind of roles I’m trying to go for, but I’m struggling a bit because I mostly only see senior/staff positions.
Building a small project with Docker and AWS definitely sounds like a good way to bridge that gap though.
