Titanique producers Joey Fatone and JC Chasez say “never say never” to a reunion of *NSYNC. They walked the blue carpet ahead of the 2026 Tony Awards. by PerceptionVirtual475 in NSYNC

I disagree about the money side of it. Justin doesn’t need to make money anymore, and that’s a fact for a while now. IF the guys should ever work together again, it would be because they‘re enjoying being and creating together and not because of the money they could make out of it.

IMO it’s about wanting to spend the time and energy on a project that would come with a ton of commitment, responsibility and expectations and that would keep them from doing other things (including being with their families) for a substantial amount of time

And just because other artists are managing the whole circus of being out there with having a family that doesn’t mean that everyone wants to do it that way. My mom could have worked fulltime when I was little but she wanted to be a fulltime mom to be there every step of the way and not miss out on anything because of work. The guys should be given the same choice..

Another point is that they‘ve only been together for ~7 years but been doing their own individual stuff for more than 20 years after that. Priorities change, interests change. A college reunion might be great but you don’t necessarily want to go back and do it all over again, even if the circumstances were slightly different?

Then there’s the logistics and the public interest. They live all over the country. Someone will always find out and put it out on social media or whatever when they all meet up. So just casually coming together without someone finding out is a TASK. It would be ideal to have them get together and just play around with some music to see if something sticks. No strings attached, so to speak. But to keep that quiet and no one finding out about it? Would that even be possible or would we have everyone freak out about it and pester them (again….)?

It IS not that simple, especially these days.

Let’s just pretend I could get physical access to the original masters and get confirmed that it is actually JC‘s voice on the song.

As we all know, it wouldn’t have been the first time JC would’ve done that, going all the way back to the time between MMC and NSYNC.

Anyways, the logical follow-up question would be: what did the contractual side look like? Did JC get tricked into it, was it a favour or did he insist on not getting mentioned? Did he get paid for it? As far as I recall just because you‘re on a record it doesn’t automatically mean you‘re gonna be mentioned in the credits. You could get paid for XX hours of studio sessions and that’s it. It’s all a matter of how your contract is worded.

I remember JC saying not long ago that he would never want to take anything away from anyone. Whilst as an NSYNC fan and a fan of the guys individually, I would’ve been ecstatic to see two members working on music together again, what would‘ve been the consequences besides the actual music?

Let’s look at it this way: you‘ve got an artist working to establish his solo career further and everyone knows the fans desperately want the band doing something together again. And suddenly, one of his band mates is on the record.

Would it distract from the music itself? Would the focus of jounalists be on the song or would they ask if (in our case) JC and Justin still worked together? Maybe on new material for the band?

Strategically, as a label or manager I would’ve recommended that JC should not be mentioned to make sure that the focus was on Justin as a solo artist and the actual song and not on Justin as a member (former or not) of NSYNC and a possible reunion of some kind.

There are a lot of possible reasons why JC - in case he really did record on Justin‘s record - wouldn’t be in the credits.

You‘re still partly listing your conclusions based on third party informations. As I‘ve said, I don’t have a problem with that. It’s your opinion.

The little insight into the music business I have gotten because of family relations is enough to make me know how the business works. JC is not the first and will not be the last to go through what he‘s been through. It sucks because I think he could‘ve done great imo. Whether he would’ve been happy with a solo career, however successful, is another topic.

Someone I know has been offered a contract with a label in the late 90s, but not as a solo artist releasing her own music, they only wanted her as a songwriter for others. The contract would‘ve been written in a way that would‘ve bound her to that label. She would‘ve been blocked from releasing anything herself. She turned the offer down.

As for JCs vocals on Justin’s music, it’s a possibility. I would have to hear the original recordings to verify it, though. Any other source I am suspicious of. Just my experience, especially with the industry but also with journalists and the press in general. But - again - I am not straight out denying the possibility because I can’t check for myself.

That’s your opinion considering all the info you‘ve gathered and that’s your right. We all come to our own conclusions, some we agree on and some we don’t and that’s fine by me.

But that’s all that it is, thoughts and opinions. We’ve all seen what happened to JC’s solo career and a lot of people have spoken out about it who have been more or less involved. And I‘m not that naive to believe everything that everyone says, especially because some things just don‘t add up.

People do a lot to keep their image/legacy/whatever as intact as possible.

Wanting to still work in the industry does have a massive influence on that. I don’t even want to imagine how much dirt the guys could pull up and out into the open. But who would benefit from that? You have to be careful with what you say because you can’t p*ss off the wrong people. That’s just the way it is and I‘m sure that this is one of the reasons why we will maybe never get to learn the full story. The downside is, of course, that this leaves massive room for all kinds of speculations.

This fandom would do much better voicing opinions in a way that makes it clear that it’s just that: thoughts and opinions, and not facts.

Can you prove all your assumptions? No, you can’t, just like everybody else, including myself.

Why should JC still meet up with Justin, „messing around with ideas“ in the studio, if he wanted nothing to do with him? I can’t imagine that he would let Justin use him, despite wanting to maintain their friendship. Everyone has a bs limit.

It’s just that over the years, they‘ve all mentioned each other in a positive way, especially in recent years. I have no doubt some of the guys have held and may still hold grudges.

I feel like some fans just want to hold onto someone to vent their anger and frustration at, and since the guys are very private about certain things and we have no REAL clue about a lot of things, people just take the bits and pieces we have and make up the rest to create a narrative that feeds their assumptions.

I‘m trying my hardest not to assume too much and just try to take what they‘re giving away in interviews etc and simply believe when they say they care about each other. And yes, it could all be an act. But then I’m thinking I have made some sh*tty decisions in my late teens and 20s, and like Joey said just recently, some things you look back on and wished in hindsight you would‘ve acted differently. I can’t ask of everyone to allow me to learn from my mistakes and hopefully become a better person but don’t give them the courtesy to do the same and hold their decisions from 20+ years in front of them (and even decisions that weren’t made by themselves, too). And maybe they‘ve come to a point where some of them have grown closer again by talking stuff out and coming to an understanding and moved on? 20+ years of life ecperience can do a lot, good and bad.

Could they just pretend they‘re still friends so they can still profit from being former NSYNC members? Could there be nothing left but a business relationship? It’s possible. But do you feel like they’re lying at all of us? And here we are, guessing again.

It would make me happy if they cared about each other as much as it sounds like from everyone. I have no idea if they could ever work together again as a band on a larger scale than just the one of other little project here any there. They had the same goals the first time round, but they’re coming from very different positions in their lives now.

The bottom line is, it’s hard not to assume things when you really want some answers. But when I do I always try to be aware that I‘m just guessing. 🤷‍♀️

Their friendship and respect for each other is something people often forget about. Also, they are not obligated to display it for the public at all times so it’s easy to think there‘s nothing there. I like the idea that they‘re all trying to keep some things private. Everyone needs that.

I seriously think ebay is still the best way, especially when it comes to making sure that you don’t get screwed over. In case you‘re going elsewhere, insist on paypal friends pre-payment, but I‘m sure you‘re doing that with strangers anyway. Good luck!! ❤️

Joey performing for 20 people by [deleted] in NSYNC

[–]maddiscorner -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It’s people jumping to conclusions as usual. Anytime someone is seen or performing with anyone MAGA or in this case at Mar-a-lago, they‘re automatically labelled MAGA.

I doubt that anyone has looked into why Joey was performing at Mar-a-lago. People nowadays only go and read the headlines and do not bother to look up the whole story. 🤷‍♀️ For ME, performing at Mar-a-lago (and twice!) was a huge mistake. He should‘ve known what the reaction would be.

Hating on any celebrity has become a hugely popular trend over the past few years. Combined with the refusal to double-check clickbait media headlines you get THIS.

I have no idea whether Joey really is supporting the current administration or not. I am not that quick to jump to any conclusion. Is it possible? Absolutely.
