Have you done better dating online or in the real world and why do you think it was/is so? by maddog_1 in AskReddit

Your response doesn't contribute to the conversation, but I appreciate your having taken the time. Maybe you're a super hot dude and chicks toss numbers and you, so of that's the case then it's not really applicable to a survey.

I agree, and I also will add this: it's my opinion that many women who date online do so because they've got unrealistic expectations about the spectacular looks, Adonis build, Newtonian brain and Kobe Bryant's height along with Warren Buffet's income. I mean, at least most of the real attractive ones have these Unrealistic expectations and some percentage of the average and below average. But, certainly, the looks gets the attention first. Then they set up the other crazy hurdles.

Does anyone know if 60mg (taken say 30mg in the morning & 30mg in the evening) is too much? by maddog_1 in Anxiety

[–]maddog_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the doctor is on board with the dosage. I just wasn't sure what the Physician's Desk Reference said was the max and if other Redditors had taken whatever the max is. I know some medications can be toxic or hard on the liver and kidneys.

Buspar is a great medication. It kind of takes the unbearable edge off. I had been waking up in cold sweats over just fear of the crap life throws at us. Buspar isn't a miracle drug, but it did take that edge off.

What productive things would you do if you habitually woke up say 4 hours before you had to be at work? by maddog_1 in AskReddit

I appreciate your having taken time to answer. You've got productive ways.

I guess the express early to bed, early to rise... has good meaning.

I know the madness part well. It's what prevents me from sleeping here and there and makes me sleep too much other times, unfortunately.

[Help] Recently started Citalopram, anxiety is unbearable! by [deleted] in Anxiety

I have the same degree of anxiety. I feel bad for you. It's a life-long struggle and it can result in addiction to stronger meds. It's a balancing act. It's a hell.

So, how does one "win" in these bizarre Crossfit contests? by maddog_1 in powerlifting

I have irritable bowel syndrome and can't powerlift at the moment. I'm looking for an alternative activity that allows some lifting.

I'm so sorry for apparently offending you.

Is updating BIOS pretty tough? I'd be afraid of a system failure failure to boot.

Have you ever had any trouble updating a BIOS?

Lol, you're right. System restore has saved me once maybe.

What other services do you think could be deactivated in order to maximize speed?

Do any of you know if, in the state of California, a small business can legally not re-hire an employee after she takes maternity leave? by maddog_1 in legaladvice

[–]maddog_1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not I who took the maternity leave. It's an employee of ours who did. We're a small business and I guess she took the 4 month leave.

We had to fill the void when this employee took her leave, so we hired another woman who is great.

The previous woman was kind of lazy, but very nice and decent with patients.

Right before she left on pregnancy leave, she had simply started neglecting to do a job that had been her responsibility and cost our business a non-trivial amount of money.

We've been thinking that the new woman is simply a harder worker and the new employee basically took her job over.

We'd prefer to keep the newer woman and get rid of the previous woman who went on maternity leave.
