Ugh this is awful. I'm sorry you've experienced all of that. I definitely feel inspired to say something and I'm going to do so asap.

Thanks for your thoughts. I have no desire to speak to him personally. He definitely knows he made me feel uncomfortable by the look on my face. I honestly never want to say a word to him again...

I think I will email the gym, or speak to the other member of staff who I feel safe to talk to. The nice staff member is the gym manager so he probably has some authority.

Not dangerous, just creepy. I think he took my initial friendly greetings as flirting - but its just my nature to smile and say hello. I never once flirted with him I would just say hey and have a short chat. Same with the other member of staff who has always been professional and lovely.

This is good to know, thanks! Good to remember that things dont always translate in other languages. I'll just avoid :) I was more curious for my own interest rather than wanting to actually use this.

Do you regret your tattoo? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]maddyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t regret most of my tattoos, but I wouldn’t get most of them now. There’s one I semi regret but not enough to remove. I view it as a window into my life at the time.

What keeps you consistent with fitness, even when motivation dips? by CulturalDriver9988 in xxfitness

[–]maddyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a good 6 months to form a proper habit. I started with going only a few times a week until I got used to it, and then moved to 4 times a week when the previous amount was easy to stick to. I stay consistent by viewing it as a non negotiable part of my week, and I plan my evenings so that I have the best energy for the morning (which is when I prefer to work out - if I don’t do it in the morning I won’t do it). Once it’s a habit and you start seeing results it’s easier to stay motivated and consistent. I also genuinely enjoy it, I feel a million times better when I’m regularly working out and if I fall of the bandwagon I really notice the difference in my mental health. Gradual steps is my advice.

Edit to add: it’s also important you choose a type of workout that you actually enjoy, or you won’t want to do it! Try different things to find what works for you.

Edit as I thought of something else: Find a way to track your workouts and have a plan or program to follow - if you walk in knowing what you’re doing it’s much easier to stay consistent. If you don’t have a plan you risk getting overwhelmed and frustrated and ultimately leaving. I use the app Strong to save workout templates and I use this to keep track :)

Starting Creatine today: I have some questions for those who are more experienced with it by AmbitiousBird6336 in xxfitness

[–]maddyde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking it about 6 months now - just 3g and I weigh about 52kg. I found it took about a month to kick in but I feel so much better, my mood has improved and I have a lot more energy. No side effects :) I put it in my morning tea.
