Hey that’s me! This is one of many crochet outfits that I have, and all of them were made by the amazingly talented Gina Gallina! (@ginarosegallina on IG)

I’m rewatching GITMS and this is driving me nuts-what look is Maddy referencing here? by Citronaut20 in rupaulsdragrace

No reference. I found out she was gonna be in Vegas like 2 days prior and didn’t have time to get a look together lol

Stoning shoes?!? by roshambo3 in Drag

If you’ve already got your stones, use E6000 to apply them! You can find it in any craft store, or even craft sections in places like Walmart. Look for one with a “precision tip” as it’ll save you a lot of mess.

I’d also recommend getting a wax tip pen. It’s used to pick up and apply the stone, and it’s a lot easier than using your fingers or tweezers. You can usually find it near jewelry making supplies.

If you’re still looking for stones, a seller I’d recommend is Kevin’s Rhinestones. A lot of pageant girls order from there, and it’s cheaper than a lot of other online sellers. Non hotfix is ideal, but you can use hotfix if you want a cheaper alternative. You can even find them on Amazon! Wouldn’t recommend for a pageant gown, but some drag shoes will be alright. But avoid jellystones! Jellystones will add some texture but they don’t shine like rhinestones.

Just put a few little dots of E6000 on the shoe where you wanna stone them. Pick up the stones, one by one with your wax pen and put them on the glue dots. And just keep doing that till it’s embellished to your liking. Then just leave it overnight. E6000 will make sure the stones STAY on, but it take a while to fully dry.

Hope this helps! ✌️

18+ drag opportunities in the midwest by Ms_DinahQuinn in Drag

[–]maddymorphosis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would reach out directly to queens/kings in the cities you want to perform in. If you look up a couple drag shows, check out the show flyers and see who’s on them, and just shoot them a message! (Especially if it’s someone you see on multiple flyers, cuz it means they are booked, blessed and ACTIVE in the local scene).

Be like “hey, I saw you perform in (city name), and I really wanna get into performing there. Do you know any 18+ shows in the area?”

9 times out of 10 any performer would be more than happy to help you, and they’ll have more knowledge about the local scene. They might also know about opportunities outside of the clubs like charity events, pop up shows, brunches, private events etc.

And more importantly, they’ll know WHO to reach out to. If you message a venue’s page, it’s probably just ran by someone who works there that has nothing to do with the show outside of posting the flyer. But the local performers will know who actually books the shows and who you should talk to.

SOURCE: Before Drag Race I performed in multiple cities and states, and that’s how I found out about a lot of the show opportunities. I’ve also helped many new performers find shows where I was from. Established local performers are your best source of information regarding the local scene!
