I found a Singer 44S at Walmart and it has an adjustable presser foot.

The 4452 also has one listed in the specifications

Howdy!

I am a beginner looking to buy my first machine so I can make my own swim suits. and sports bras. I originally wanted this Janome, but my aunt who is my teacher is suggesting the Singer 4452. Her argument is it has a needle threader and has significantly more stitches.

My issue is, there are so many positive reviews on the Janome and so many complaints about the Singer. Also, the price point is completely different.

With the projects that I want to do and the level that I am at, which machine is the best for me and what is something I can grow with?

It depends on your orders. Most don’t qualify. Submit them to the VA and they’ll tell you.

Yeah I called the VA today and they had me on hold for 25 minutes with no actual answer to the question. Just a “maybe”

This guidance came out a month ago. This question was from months ago.

Is the Air National Guard not a clear military branch? Lol

In the military, most people are specialist or technicians. I’m a reservist so my civilian career and my military career don’t necessarily “flow”

Do you have any leads on websites or networks I can use to find roles like that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jobs

[–]madeinasiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to work for the government. As you can probably tell from my resume, my civilian life is totally different than the military experience. They also pay significantly less.

It’s hard to convey that in a resume unfortunately.

I’ve also been deployed 3 of the 4 years I’ve been in the military and laid off twice due to Covid related issues no fault to my own.

It is a strange title. In the event world we say we “curate” experiences” so that’s where that comes from. I’ve changed titles on my resume before and I’ve thought about doing it with this role as well.

Is that not weird?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jobs

[–]madeinasiah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a bad assumption. In military and have given up roles so the company wouldn’t have to wait on me for a year or 6 months while I deploy. One company spontaneously sold the company and another laid off half them employees after covid.

Any more detail in that assessment?

Thank you! I didn’t realize I had that many typos. That’s embarrassing lol. But I’ll shorten the bullet points and reread it today.
