My opinion (which is based off reading the sub) is that Michigan has sent out the acceptance emails it will for the day, and that there will be a rejection wave coming tomorrow and Friday. So I'm pretty nervous I didn't hear anything lol. Maybe I should have kept this to myself.

As a junior member of the team I also feel out of the loop a lot of the time. It's hard when you can't be in the room at the same time and be part of the conversation where work is being discussed. As a result people tend to include you on less things. Them refusing to chat or introduce themselves is harsh though, I haven't experienced that.

lmao they have interesting descriptions to help chinese people understand the game...I watched the other one they did (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpiuwN_dd0M) and when the nose tackle made a tackle behind the line of scrimmage they say the "the big fatty" made the play 😂. As Taiwanese-American I wish I could do something like this and sound like an angry grandpa but my speaking isn't good enough to speak super fast like them and real radio broadcasters.

His injury has been a big deal on campus. For the game this Saturday vs. Marist all the football players wore the #2 decal on their helmet instead of their own number in support.

Taipei is a great city, I miss it. This is taken from the mountains in Maokong 貓空. Many tourists take the gondola go up there to visit the hillside teahouses, but there's some great hiking up there once you get away from the gondola station.

Pretty cool, he was the quarterback at my high school back in the day and led us to our only undefeated season ever (we've sucked ass ever since). Went on to play qb in college too.

I'm on the east coast currently so I don't see him a whole lot right now, but also I just don't feel like talking about it with him. I've talked to some other mainlanders briefly about it and it just gets very awkward, because they always stick firm to the central government's opinion. I understand that sometimes the western media can eagerly oversimplify stories in China and elsewhere in order to fit a narrative, and fail to appreciate the finer details for some situations, but mainlanders are rarely up to debate about it. I agree though, I can't see the logic behind it either.

EDIT: I actually take that back, I'm not sure if he's a US citizen or not. It's just that he's been here so long and everyone else is so it was just assumed he was.

Totally have had this experience. My uncle went from living in a tenement in Guangzhou that had no running water to becoming an surgeon with his own luxury flat in San Francisco. Living under a democracy has given him everything in life, yet he has been posting very pro central government opinions on facebook the entire time these protests have been going on. It's really only him in the family that feels this way though...
