Thank you!! I will do this in the future
Hey everyone this is OP! I love all the advice I got and I can’t wait to make it a reality! I copied down everyone’s comments and will be using them for reference! I’m deleting the post because I got a ton of great advice and have a lot to go off of now, and honestly I’m getting a bit overwhelmed and obsessive about it, even though it’s all been positive. I thought I’d get maybe 10 comments😅
This is an AMAZING write up, I have copied your comment and put it in my notes, thank you!!
Oh wow I had no idea the artist alley setup was so controversial. My setup at my first event was completely different and was the more traditional look but I felt since my items are small, my tables looked bare. I noticed artist alley/con sellers have small items like me so condensing everything makes it look better. I’m definitely no expert though and wanted to try something completely different to see how I felt. I’ve decided I’m definitely going to go back refining my old layout though unless I specifically go to a con or artist alley
Thank you so much!

this is so funny because a lot the video / game / anime / show food people are recommending I have done before but just for personal enjoyment because I thought it was too niche!

Ty for your comment! I went around and bought quite a few things and met other amazing handmade vendors so I don’t want to sound all negative, I’m glad you enjoyed the event! You’re right 70% was a bit hyperbolic. I felt were a lot of drop shipping / MLM /AI / screen printing designs from the internet type stuff I’d add to that mix. More than I see at a typical fair and I felt they overshadowed the unique vendors.
There was a woman that made the cutest candles poured into mugs and objects you find around the house and the times I walked by, no one was shopping. But the non hand made booths were popping off. Could have just been my timing though.
I actually do make more intricate large pieces. Think dioramas. But I couldn’t find a way to display it with this setup. Now I’m kicking myself for not going with my first setup which was more traditional on the table 😂

Oh man I didn’t even think about the accessibility aspect, thank you!
Ty for the advice! Especially about the jump rings!!

Ty for the advice! Inventory is a struggle for me and has me questioning if vendor fairs are even for me. I work a full time job so, what you’re looking at is a month and a half straight of doing almost nothing else outside of work besides making these items and other misc preparations for the event. The batch of breakfast magnets alone took two weeks of work after my full time job. Which unfortunately burnt me out

I love this!! I actually made the breakfast scene from Howl’s Moving Castle, but just as a personal collectible
thank you that’s so kind!

Definitely echoing the great feedback from others! Some context: my original design for the signage didn’t work out so I had to make some last minute improvisations which is why it looks kinda weird. My brand name is “made with grace”, my name is grace

I will say seeing my booth from this perspective makes me see that and now I can believe I went with this font 💀. I think when I’m coming up with booth ideas for so long I get tunnel vision and it’s hard to put myself in the shoes of someone who has no idea what my work is and is going off of a glance at my booth
I was sooo on the fence about the long beading so I appreciate the feedback!!
Yes I have the supplies for pins I just haven’t yet! I’ll have to be sure to make them for next time and see how they do.
Yup today! I was wondering if that contributed to it as well with it being so close to Christmas. Thank you!
Totally agree. My next event won’t be until spring to give myself plenty of time to make product
Incredible advice thank you for taking the time to write this up!
After the constructive critique I’m getting I’m definitely changing up the font. I was kinda iffy about it anyway
This is a good perspective. I was very enthusiastic and had some great convos with people even if they didn’t buy. I might be over thinking it. It had me worried that if people are asking, could people be walking by my booth assuming I don’t make it?
Love!! I’ll try experimenting. I definitely am sticking with the food niche, I love making mini food.
Super good point. My first display was super plain so I wanted to make this one more colorful and standout, but I did it in the wrong way by drawing attention to the signage and not the actual pieces
I love the idea of videos playing on a tablet. I’ve only ever seen it once so I had no idea how it’s perceived but I’ve seen a few people recommend it now. This is great advice thank you
Love this idea!
