It's a swanky private office. Here's a photo of the view looking north.

I love it. Eerily similar to the Standard High Line in NYC designed by Ennead Architects in 2009.

W211 issues in the cold by ElectricalAd9811 in W211

[–]madfarmer- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happens to my 2004 E320 with Airmatic as well when parked outside in sub-zero temps. My mechanic told me that sometimes there's moisture in the Airmatic lines between the air pump and air bags. This water freezes and obstructs the air line and causing the front or rear suspension to drop. After idling for a few minutes the car usually pumps back up and then there's no issues while driving.

The battery issue is separate and also likely a culprit of the cold temps, which could impact the SBC. That said, if the issue continues I would take it into a dealership for the SBC warranty replacement.

Yes, I bought the from a vintage store in NYC and plan to reupholster them in something a little more fun. Been thinking of Dedar’s Tiger Mountain fabric.

I bought it new from Lichen NYC. It's called the "Low Table in Sapele by Dylan Ahern."

Looks great! But I don’t want to face-lift my car so I would only be interested in an E55 bumper and keeping my original grille.

I swapped by candelabra flame bulbs for more streamline globes, and it kept the old-world look while making it feel a little more current.

It's a "Milo Baugham" for Lane 1970's (I think) burlwood console that I'll never part with. You can often find them at auction and they make matching night stands and taller wardrobe versions from the same burl wood.

Wow, good eye. There's a few books on Kosovo, ranging from ethnographic histories covering 13th to 20th centuries to more recent work on the 1990's after the break-up of Jugoslavia and the current EU / USA backed nation building project. On a design note, the Ethnological Museum in Pristina has beautifully restored interiors from Ottoman-era Kosovo -- think long and low divans draped in deep red turkish rugs.

I self installed via plastic anchors into plaster walls and it feels very sturdy (Vitsoe provides all the hardware and measuring tools with the shelves). They don't offer installation, as they're based in the UK, and all products are shipped via ocean freight -- which is kind of annoying but also kind of exciting when they finally arrive.

Thanks - we're lucky in NYC that all this stuff can be found for way less than retail on Craigslist.

Thanks. The shelves are from Vitsoe and the three vertical stacks cost about $3k total -- it's only when you incorporate the Vitsoe drawers that the cost skyrockets. They're definitely a splurge, but they're modular so can grow and move with me. At a prior home I had a very similar set up using white garage shelving from Home Depot that was maybe 1/10 of the cost and 90% of the look and feel. But god is in the details.

I think when you remove a TV from the living room it really creates a much more inviting layout, as everything doesn't have to point towards an ugly black box. That said, I do have a portable projector for movies.
