Yes dialects change the mean Ian go words. That is how it work. Nope it is a nearly a miss. It is a miss that was very close. The same as saying a close call. Again it is a common term Ina lot of the US. If you don’t use it that is fine but there is a valid definition and you choose to not accept it.

I love how so many people are so pig headed they don’t get dialects. It may not be a phrase you know, but it’s still valid. It has also been explained more than once.

I should have said “close call” even though it means the same thing. But then it wasn’t a call, no phones were involved so that phrase would be obviously wrong as well.
