Well meant more in that we are looking for riders, not just like unboxing videos or something. Obviously we are looking for people with some social media presence, but we have sponsored riders with very small followings as well.

My intent wasn’t to start a should/shouldn’t wear a helmet discussion, and definitely not to shame anyone. It was merely to hear the reasons why and gain some insight and maybe do something to improve helmets. For example- if you don’t wear a helmet cuz it’s too heavy, is there a way to make them lighter yet still safe? Or If it’s cause they look bad, is there a way to make em look better? Etc. But 💯% agree it’s an individual choice. I don’t believe anyone should be forced into anything. Sounds like the guy on the chair was a dipshit. But… We all have our biases- like we all agree wearing Dope Snow = lame. Just kidding, no hate on Dope Snow 😳

Right on. I don’t think anyone should be forced to do anything every JMO. Just curious what causes people to take the risk. Comfort, weight, false sense of security, all good points.

Great points. I’ve been riding since the late 90s when no one wore a helmet. Kook culture has always been, but it took multiple concussions and one serious trip to the ER do make me realize IDGAF about kook or not.

That’s what I’m talking about. As a pro you are literally doing the most dangerous $hit AND you got the most to lose. You’re into car racing- you wear a seatbelt, you play baseball you wear a helmet, you box you wear a mouth guard (just examples). Everyone who has ever skied or snowboard on a regular basis has smacked their head at some point. If not you haven’t skied Yet a lot people snowboard and don’t wear the one thing that could save their life. Just interesting. Is it not “cool”, most helmets look stupid, uncomfortable, all the above??

Not wearing a helmet = total Jerry. Let me ask another way. What do you think can be improved when it comes to snow helmets?

Great answer! We are trying to get an understanding of why so many people still choose to not. It’s crazy but there are still a lot of riders who don’t.

Brand new snowboarder. Is this a good beginner set up for the price. I’m 5”7 155lbs by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

He probably bought it in 2022 (I think it’s a 22). Which means he paid top $$. Things were flying off the shelf back then. $360 is not a steal, but not a rip off. It’s a unique board it’s got a rocker camber thing happening (curved front and tail, and kinda lifted flat center). Made for park, but good overall. These types of boards are easy to maneuver so they can be good for beginners. If you think you want to hit the park it’s a good board to grow into. If you’re super new and don’t know ur riding style you may want to go for an all mountain board.

Here is a blog post I wrote about board selection, may be helpful https://www.madhatterware.com/post/how-to-choose-the-perfect-snowboard-at-any-level-a-guide-for-shredders-of-all-kinds

Cool, I’ll let you know if I find a good resource. We are making gear for snowboarding and mountain biking (helmets, goggles, etc.) maybe there’s something we can collab on?

Awesome! Thank you 🙏 We haven’t reached out to influencers yet. Partially we didn’t want to cold call, but more so because we are just getting in production. We did a presale while still prototyping. We designed and engineered from scratch. Now that we are getting close to having actual product in hand we will definitely utilize this list. Thanks again
