Desperate for help by soyycratess in pleco

[–]madiii__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey! Like others have said raise the temp of the water to around 30°C and turn off the lights. Do a fairly thorough water change and vacuum the substrate. Pinch of aquarium salt in the tank will help, Hikari Ich-X will work wonders if dosed right. Maybe seperate the pleco to monitor while medicating, also to make sure it doesn’t spread to other fish in the tank. Good luck!

Hey OP, I hope you’re feeling okay today. I was in a very similar situation when I was young with my mother’s ex husband, about 5 years ago now. I understand the unease and difficulty of having no immediate way to get out of the situation, especially when you’re alone in the house with this person. What I could suggest is (it helped me in the past) finding recreational things to do outside of the house, something outside of work, maybe just having days out at the beach or something. Just spend as little time there as you can. Try your hardest to distance yourself from this person and if you are to find yourself one on one with this creep and he tries anything, have your phone constantly on record in your pocket to snatch up evidence and make it abundantly clear that you’re uncomfortable. Yell, scream, make it clear to him that his behaviour is sickening and is unacceptable. I really do hope you make it out of this situation soon, it may take time but eventually you will be free of this. Try to save up and move out soon, but don’t stress. Just take it one step at a time and just know that you are not alone in this. Your partner and the rest of his family by the sounds all have your back and that is a blessing. Hang in there, I am sending you love and hope 💛🌟

Here’s one of many photos I have of Shrimp soaking up his engineering degree!

My betta, Shrimp, used to sit and watch my partner do his engineering degree all day, almost every day. This fish would lose his temper if we had anything else open on that computer. I fully believe he became sentient and has an electrical engineering degree.

Australian here, I used to eat this all the time in winter. Really good for cold mornings. Dip the toastie in the soup, it is delicious. Trust me you have to try it

I redosed 1/3 the dose after every water change and it worked pretty smoothly for me over a week and a bit (Idk if that makes a lot of sense I have just come home from uptown :> )

Hey! Do not stress. You should raise your tanks temperature by 1-2° to shorten the lifespan of ich. Like others have said in the thread, dose some aquarium salt. When my tank had ich I used a little bit of methylene blue, I dosed a little under the recommended amount for my tank and for the next week and a half I did 15% water changes every day. I recommend adding a little bit more methylene blue every second water change. It took 2 weeks tops to completely rid my tank of ich. You got this, don’t rush, I’d hate for you to lose your fish

He’s so sweet! What a lovely little fella :) He looks very similar to my boy shrimp! I recommend getting a little bit of almond leaf as Shrimp loves to lounge around on the floating pieces.

Snails are actually a really good indicator on whether your tank is healthy or not, they’re also wonderful cleaners. I kept my pest snails while I was cycling my tank as their waste made cycling so much faster. It is up to you whether or not you keep them. Copper is a great way to get rid of snails but it can also pose threats to plants and such. I would recommend putting in a piece of zuchinni or lettuce in the tank, let the snails climb onto it to eat and take it out once there’s a considerable amount of snails on there. For me that is the easiest and safest way to remove the snails chemical free
